OK thanks.... I talked to a woman just prior to a second call to a guy. The first call she said call back at the end of the week. I only called again because I read that I must specifically ask if it was in AP. I'll call in a few days

ya, i would call in a few days, you might get someone who can give you some info "yes or no" not

I hope you arent stuck :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I just called NVC to see if I was stuck in AP and the guy I spoke with didn't know what that was. He said it can take several weeks to be sent to the embassy and that the embassy would contact me when they have it. I have been reading that the paperwork is sent within a few days or it is stuck in AP. Would I be wrong in assuming that I was stuck in AP? Or should I wait a few days to find out. NVC got my approval june 12 (last saturday)

When you called NVC, did you ask them date of arrival and date of departure from NVC? When I called, they specifically told me that it had not left, it was still there, and then I asked them why, it was now 1 week and a day past what the NVC letter stated it would be sent to the embassy, and he told me that we were in AP, there is no time limit. and I agree with a previous post, some called this letter, the "letter of lies", because basically in my case it is a flat lie!

I wonder why I haven't even rec a letter from NVC saying that they rec my case. They have it and it's in additional processing. Aren't I suppose to get a letter?

I think you can probably blame that one on the postal service to be honest with you. They tend to be consistent at sending out the letter of lies at the very least.

This letter is inconsequential at the moment to be honest. If you already know you are in AP, the only thing NVC haven't done thus far is tell you they are forwarding on your case, when they clearly have not.

I've noticed there has been a change this year, last year by average it took no more than 3 months for the approval of I-129F petition and the NVC would mail the petition to the assigned consulate the same day they would send the notice that they received it. This year I'm seeing that USCIS is taking more than 3 months to approve it and NVC is taking more than a week to process the case. From what I know, NVC usually stamps the petition the day it is received but does not send a letter right away saying they received it. They send a letter once they do a name check and a quick review and then they assign a case number and then send a letter to the petitioner saying we received your case and assigned a case number as well as sending the petition to the assigned consulate. Now I'm seeing that some procedures have changed. Hopefully in a matter of a month, everything will be clear for those who are stuck in AP

I've almost given up trying to anticipate how on earth USCIS and NVC go about doing what they are doing. I sadly encountered two people on the VSC november '08 thread today, neither have received their NOA 2 yet. One filed before me, one just a short time after and yet I have my visa. How is that fair? I give up. CSC was whizzing by and yet, recently people have been having to wait for ages just to receive a NOA 1 in the post.

Hopefully it will be a max of a few weeks of hold up for you guys. Fingers crossed for you.
