I must be really lame to be opening another thread in like 3 days, but oh well!..

I searched around the forum and saw that people tracked their packages being sent off to the respective consulates overseas, but it doesn't work for me when I try to do what they did.

I go to

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

And put EXP 19 NOV 2008A in the Reference Number box. Click Track. Nothing happens. It just says "No shipments found. Please revise criteria and resubmit".

Any ideas? Other people's topics that I read and it worked for them were dated May 2008, the latest. Maybe NVC changed the format since then....

Thanks for any help or thoughts you wwould have on this one :star:

ok, so say u wanna see todays shipments (even if its too early right now...) u would put EXP 19 NOV 2008A on the reference number box and the from 20 nov to 20 nov and the dates box...but u need to wait this late afternoon to check todays shipments! if u wanna check yesterday put EXP 18 NOV 2008A on the reference box and then from 19 nov to 19 nov and the date box!

NVC sent our file to Kiev on Nov. 12, but the embassy doesn't have it in the system yet. I am not sure how long it should take, but NVC told me there is no way to tell when our file was actually shipped. The call center told my SO it could take months to get our file in the computer. Any thoughts?

Brad... I already told you that it is typically 3+ weeks to get into the system, this is SOP for Kyiv....

I saw that, thanks. Just trying to sort out all the different things we are reading and hearing. You are seeing multiple posts (from me) that say basically the same thing in response to different threads. By doing that, often I see something new to me that is informative, like pushbrk's recent comments on tracking. The call center says up to two months is average to get into the system, and you gave a much more pleasant estimate. You and a few others have been around awhile, and seem to surf all the forums regularly, but others tend to stick to certain areas by geography or visa type, etc. Sometimes the different points of view are informative - just my style of information gathering. I don't mean to offend any one who is dispensing information at all - and I appreciate the help.

CYA makes sense  At least they didn't give us USCIS-type conflicting information. It sounds like 3+ weeks and up to two months are the same range anyway.

Not so much if you do not fit the "patience is a virtue" profile... right?

I suppose so - but the USCIS wait period does provide some training in that regard  By the way, I cleaned out my PMs and mistakenly deleted your contact for flats in Kherson. Could you resend at your leisure? We used an old contact in October, and stayed in a one room across the street from the central market. Pretty good location, but I would like a reliable contact to reserve a two room place in advance next time. I don't mind sending a deposit.

Cheers
