TORONTO, Ontario (CNN) -- Canadian police said on Saturday they had halted a "real and serious" terror threat in and around Toronto.

Twelve men and five youths said to have been inspired by al Qaeda were arrested in the operation involving hundreds of officers, authorities said.

The group was "planning to commit a series of terrorist attacks against solely Canadian targets in southern Ontario," Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Mike McDonell said at a news conference.

I read about it in the The Star today. Honestly, it doesnt surprise me that there would be so many in Ontario plotting. Why should it? Have we all forgotten that Toronto was also threatened on 9/11? Or at least it was later reported to have been thwarted.

While I abhor those who still spread the falsity that the 9/11 terrorists all came from Canada, I do think it naive to think that Canada is terrorist free.

Just be glad they caught them, and hope that there aren't anymore up and running.

Hey, Im awake.

I realized some may take offence to my remark. They realy shouldnt't. Its just the law of numbers speaking. We know, for a fact, that a certain percentage of these folks are predesposed to terrorist activities. We also know that the government of Canada has been letting vast numbers of these folks into the country. Many undocumented as refugees. If one has been to Brampton, Bramalea or Mississauga, they would see that indeed, these cities and towns have huge populations of these folks.

Its not uncommon at all to see people on Carpets praying at busstops etc. Their culture has been imported. Do you think they just import the peace loving bits and leave the rest behind? That would be foolish to think so.

Agreed that when certain people come in with certain other people, the bad are going to get in with the good.

But your remarks.... "Anyhow, with that many Sikhs, Arabs, Pakistanis etc.. its just a matter of time." point the finger not at the cause of the terrorism, but at a group of people, who largely condemn terrorism.

And as far as parking my car in the ghetto, and being all lilly-white... sure. Now I am in the suburbs. Know why? Because I was tired of living in the 'hood and getting my isht stolen all the time. However, when my isht got stolen, I wasn't like "fu##ing ni##ers!" I was like "Damn, my isht got stolen again."
