OK so I went to the doctor today because nothing has really changed since starting my meds. I told him my symptoms, what how I was feeling, etc, he examines and tells me "Yeah, I dont think you have UTI...", so now I have an ultrasound at the hospital monday because he thinks its due to a spastic colon and urethitis (i think thats what he called it). He also has me referred to a gastreonoligist because of other problems my doc back in canada completely discarded. He says to stay on the meds and the Nuvaring for now, and if all the tests come back negative, then switch birth control. So I think I am finally on my way to getting fixed! It just sucks cause I just spent a buttload of money at the emergency room to (*sigh* its time like those i miss canada) to be mis-diagnosed! Again, will keep you informed and hopefully will get to the bottom of this soon.

ewww bad memory alert...I'm pretty sure it was BActrim..something with sulfa in it..think that was it.. Had it for tooth one time, and ended up in emergency twicein one weekend..was totally swelled up and hives..like pancakes..all over! Was a bad thing..had to go the next day too, even tho I had stopped taking it..got a bit better in hospital and then worse again over night. BAD memories of that stuff!!

I sure hope you can find out what the heck is going on. That's likely one of the most frustrating parts of it hey? Until they know what IS wrong they can't treat you... :( Hope they find out really soon Stina..feel for ya! (F) M.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Stina, I was on the Nuvaring up until about 10 days ago. I gained around 12 pounds in 10 weeks, suffered from incredible mood swings, severe migraines, anxiety. While I don't believe I was depressed, I certainly wasn't finding joy in life everyday. Eventually, I removed the ring due to the headaches. Within days my headaches eased, I have lost around 4 pounds without even really trying, my mood swings are almost gone and I love and appreciate those around me again. I found a website where women discussed side effects of the Nuvaring and found it very interesting. Some women complain of UTI's as well. That is something I didn't suffer from, but the Nuvaring may well be causing it.

Doctors always slap on a diagnosis of a UTI(or bronchitis) when they don't really know whats going on. They just want to hurry and get you out of their face and temporarily appease you by handing you a prescription. Only if they took the time to investigate thoroughly.
