AOS process?

hi everybody,

i got 2 receipts notice of my i-765 and i-485, and i was wondering if its normal to have 2 different A# (alien's registration number)... the A# on the receipt notice of i-765 is the same as the A# i have on my i-94 but the A# on i-485 is deferent !!!...so should i relaxe and take it easy and dont worry about it because its normal or should i make a mouvement and call them right away?

any suggestions would be apprecaited and helpful...thx everybody.

You should only have one Alien number. You might want to give a phone call to the "mis-information line" and escalate the call to an immigration officer (someone different than who answers the phone). If you aren't able to do that, you may wish to make an Infopass appointment with your local USCIS office (www.uscis.gov - from right hand column select 'Schedule an appointment') and speak to an immigration officer to find out what is going on.

Yeah, I agree with Kathryn, this is not normal... You should try to call USCIS or schedule an infopass. Good luck

Do it ASAP, before they get too far into the process. You don't want the two cases separated because they will never be able to find them and put them together again.

i read that somewhere and it looks possible too.

(((((((Most of the time this is correct, but I do recall filing an AOS in Los Angeles a few years ago where the officer assigned a new alien registration number to my applicant. My memory is a bit fuzzy concerning his explanation, but I seem to recall him saying something about a block of A numbers they were keeping in reserve for some special purpose, and my client was assigned a new A number for this reason.)))))))

now im getting confused for real...lol

so wht do u think about that??

Like someone above already stated, you should try giving USCIS a call or making an appointment. You should only have one A number, my husband was only assigned one....ever since we received his K3 approval we got an A #, same number for EAD and AOS.
