Hey everyone. My fiancee's interview was today in Bucharest, Romania. She had all the requested documentation except that I mistakenly sent her a photocopy of the divorce decree instead of a certified copy. She got a 221(g) saying that the petitioner(me) must send a certified court copy. So I went to the courthouse got the cert. copy and sent it DHL to her. Should I be worried? Will everything be ok once she goes back with the certified copy?? They kept my I-134, letter of employment, tax returns, bank statements, the ds-156, and the ds-230.

Everything's OK or they wouldn't have required the certified divorce decree. Good news!

Sent my fiancee the certified divorce decree last week. Her second interview was today. She got her visa approved. I am so happy. :D She will be flying to Houston next week on November 12. She said that her experience at the Bucharest, Romania embassy was great. I want to thank everybody on this site for all the great advice. Wedding and AOS is next step. :dancing:

I am surprised it was required... If there was any question as to you status as "free to marry" should have been decided at the USCIS and not for the consulate to consider

It was a little weird since I sent USCIS a certified copy of it when I applied for the K1 and my petition was approved. I am just so happy that this part of the process is over.

I was thinking the same thing.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
