My husband (a white irishman) has his greencard take 17 months to be approved because of our governments desire to 'protect' me from terrorits. A friend of mine who is married to an Arab gentlemen waited over three years for his to be approved. He's also one of the name-matches on the no-fly list.

And as you will have noticed they have setup new rules to minimize this from happening.

There are a lot of people here whose Visa's have been processed super fast.

Do you think liberal democrats are open minded and tolerant of those with any religious beliefs.

The republicans who attacked the religion did so out of fear and lack of understanding. Whereas liberals tend to attack all religions out of pure hatred.

That's malarkey and you know it.

I said liberals and not all democrats.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

A visa isn't a greencard. And it's racial profiling to throw a blanket over all Arabs for deeper checks.

And it's still malarkey. You're using a broad paintbrush to make categorical generalities.

If a neighbour of yours calls in that you have been behaving suspiciously (even if they just don't like your face), the next thing that will happen is you may walk into your place to find your home ripped apart and then if the authorities are waiting for you, your left cheek smashed onto the ground whilst your right cheek has a boot on it.

Off to jail with no phone call.

You will have disappeared from civilization and your family will even have trouble finding out where you are.

It is that serious...and true.

We are living in really, really bad times now.

Our civil liberties have been eroded.

And this did not just happen.

You guys are paranoid.

I wonder if this paranoia will change once Obama is in office and supports these measures.

With tremendous reason.

I, for one, didn't know I was on some list.

"No fly"? I don't know. I was allowed to fly, just interrogated and searched more than others. Bleh!

I just kept thinking I was just the unlucky one to be inspected more than others whenever flying in the U.S.

My stuff totally opened and ransacked...never repacked of course.

That is now my job.

And my bags' zippers tested with a wand dipped in some chemicals to detect bomb residue. (I asked.)

#######?!

I told them not only were they wasting their time, but money too.

This happened for a few years.

I put two and two together and suspected it was because I would fly in and around the country on one way tickets.

I sail!

I race and deliver boats. I cannot/do not buy two way tickets.

However anyone who knows about the four Ss on their boarding pass knows exactly what I am talking about.

This is not paranoia.

This is reality!

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

The Muslim religion is just a religion.

Not true. It's also a legal system.

Sure is, especially if you had read drafts of the new Iraqi constitution, guess they don't know how to think separation from government and state. And honestly, if you did have freedom of religion, would you choose to be a Muslim, especially if you happened to be born a female? Strictly a man's religion, women don't have any rights.

Maybe a Muslim can verify whether this video is true or false.

You believe you where on a list because you were randomly checked. Why would you be on the list?

The first few times I came to the US I too was always checked and had to undergo additional testing. Almost always was from a black officer. Maybe I should have pulled a yank and cried racism. At the end of the day they are doing their job and I have nothing to hide. Actually I laughed it off with the officers.

Your one way tickets are suspicious and you would be detained and questioned in Aus as well. Actually you may not have even been able to enter there without proving your intent to leave. Immigration and temporary visas are not a right but a privilege so all countries should be able to monitor suspicious behavior. This is not Greece where the immigration officials don't even check passports. The number of times I have entered that country with a wave of the hand, rather than actually having my passport scanned, is not even funny.

should we as Muslims also go about posting pics of the crimes committed against Muslim women by the Christian USA service in Iraq? and make a statement tell us if this is true does it represent all of the Christian men in the USA? That would make about as much sense as what u just did!!!!!!

I am certainly NOT trying to start, yet another religious war, but as a matter of fact, most major religions from one extreme to another tend to put women down. As a man with a loving wife and daughters that are human beings in every respect of the word, I do not feel this is right. And coming to the conclusion, the reason for this, is that most if not all the religions of the world, were created by men.

As a former US military man myself, such actions against the people we were attempting to protect were not permitted with severe penalties, couldn't even take small samples of the spoils of war. Also a very awkward situation for a young man to be put in when couldn't tell who was friend or foe, practically had to take a bullet before you could strike back. And who said these USA men were Christians? They sure do not sound like Christians to me if such is going on.

I am asking questions, not making accusations, a strong difference.

In an honorable war, or so called, where all wear uniforms, bottom line as a young man pulled away from his family to shoot and kill another young man that was pulled away from his family just like you were. Don't think about stuff like this until you are in that situation, the leaders that started this mess, go free.

People who curse religion and make fun of me on other threads for expressing views that follow the tenets of my faith now come here to tell me they want better for my faith than I do? Damn hypocrites!

For people who pride themselves on their intellect you sure do make some wild, unsubstantiated and completely false accusations.

It seems again, that the personal emotional involvement with this topic has led to some to take leave of their senses and spread more smeer and lies.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

If you think liberals attacks on religion is unsubstantiated, hearsay and generalizing, then what can I say. Because no matter what evidence I present to you, you will pull a six.
