I am here with you. Yeah I have all my bets on January. if nothing happens then I won't know what to do. Should I look for another job here? Should I try and set up our life here? But what if NOA 2 comes a few weeks later. Oh I hate this. However, skeez&Titanic, Chadherm....I know we are not the only ones still waiting past the 170 days. There a some more from early July. So I think, we are just in the slow boxes with slow adjudicators!

Estadia, Wendy&Gregor,MonkeyJuice, Audel...did I forget anybody? Good luck to all of you guys for the new year!!!

Thank you everyone for thinking of me and the rest of us UNLUCKY ones on this site. As far as I can tell my case is stuck in the "background check" which I guess means the FBI. I have been asking everyone I know if they know anyone who works for the FBI and no dice.

I am wondering if there is some way we can contact the FBI and see what the problem is???

What do you guys think?

Hey!

That was the response we kept getting too, and it turned out to be nothing. Our lawyer said that's just the excuse they give everyone to cover their A$$es when they don't complete a case on time. I wish I had some helpful information to give you. Have you done the service request thing? Not 100% sure what that is, but I've heard others talking about it- something you can do when you're over the current processing times. I'm so sorry that you are still going through this. Hopefully 2009 will be better to you than 2008 has been! Still thinking about you guys!

Wendy&Greg, you can do a FBI check by yourself for free. You just need to send them some email with your data. It will tell you if you have a hit and it was posted somewhere on VJ. However, I doubt they would give you that info if there was something substantially wrong. Maybe one of you just has the same (common) last name like a bad guy and this can put you off for weeks as the hit needs to be resolved.

We asked about that 180 days thing too at the infopass. They told Dan that it doesn't mean anything. It 's just the border for the call center agents to put in a service request for your case. But you won't get any other answer besides "still processing", "waiting for security clearance" and such. I mean, it really doesn't speed things up and you can get this info any time at an infopass appointment without having to wait 60 days or more.

You really wanna be depressed, look at the August filer thread. There's still plenty of July people with nothing, not to mention June, etc.

Yeah I think ill start calling around after the new year cause i figured things are going so slow cause of the holidays. I am going to try to get in touch with my congressman and senator or someone cause this is killing me. Even though my fiancee is here with me for the holidays he goes home soon. Which he would of stayed a little bit longer if we just knew what was happening with our paperwork he doesnt want to have to miss his interview. So hopefully before he goes home there will be some news and we can start planning a whole lot of things. Still banking on a march wedding and hope that I dont have to reschedule it. If my other friend gets his noa2 before me I will scream.

That was what the etc. was for...this whole process almost makes me want to get a job at US CIS just to see WTH is going on when cases that aren't RFEd get hung up.

NOA 2. Really?

Get this..

I have been stuck in limbo like everyone here not even a touch since april. Calls are a total joke - So I started writing the ombudsman. Canned response were what I got. Then Service Request... same responses. So the first part of Dec I sent out a letter to the local Senator, an email to Ms. Barbara Q. Velarde - Chief of Service Center Operations (SCOPS), and a letter back to the ombudsman each containing the SR response and the last Omb response.

Within days the Senators office called to let me know USCISindicates I was stuck in security check. Then on the 24th I get a lame RFE. Seems they lost my BC and the photos I sent did not have captioning (date, location, etc) written on the back! So anyway I sent those out today (I was glad that i already had extra copies as recommended by the site!).....

So now we will see how long they can continue to stretch it out.. I wonder if it was the email to Chief of Service Center Operations (SCOPS) that did the trick?

Hey guys,

From my personal experience I can tell you that it does nothing. At the end of October I mailed about 20 letters to my congressmen, senator and to the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration. This past Monday I received a letter from my senator stating that they have inquired on my case but it could take 45-60 days to get an answer form Immigration. My congressmen inquired and he sent me a letter with a copy of the email sent by immigration and guess what the answer was. Dear Mr. Congressmen we are now working on the March cases. Funny ha!

My case was submitted in May 08, so guys what ever we do seems to serve no purpose. I done everything in my power and after paying a large amount of money to my attorney she been good for noting.

No one besides us feels the struggle and frustration we have been living in. I just hope something good happens for all of us here. Have a Happy New Year guys and many blessings for you and your love one.
