We sent our documents for our AoS on April 28th this year. We received our NOA's dated May 3rd. Our biometrics were on May 22nd, got the EAD shortly thereafter and then NOTHING. We are two weeks shy of six months on this.

Everyone else I know who has filed around that time has already received their green card. I recently asked my Senator to check the status of my case and he was informed our case is undergoing "background checks" and that "the congressional office" was "not to interfere with this process". I'm beginning obviously to get nervous about this, neither my wife or I have anything that would warrant a protracted background check, I've lived in this country for 30 years; she presented all the appropriate documentation proving a clean background and that got us her fiance visa; neither one of us has homonyms who would make us think they are checking us on their account....Am I worrying too much? does anyone have an idea of what the situation might be or when it might be resolved? ....please don't reply to this if you are going to tell me I have to wait years....it's going to depress me even more....thanks

Wait another 2-3 weeks and then get worried. There is no unusual delay so far. It just takes that long. With us, EAD in mid-March; AOS interview at the end of August.

Are you saying that in another 2-3 weeks there will be some kind of "unusual delay"?

Some people have waited up to 3 years so as far as for the USCIS they'll probably tell you to wait. Nothing you can do. Sorry not wanted to sound too pesimistic.

Don't let the choices chose you, chose the choices that you want.
