Joe Biden hails new “Biden administration”

Joe Biden is enjoying himself so much on the campaign trail that occasionally he gets to thinking he's about to become president. "In a Biden...an Obama-Biden administration," he said during an event at an American Legion hall here in Rochester, New Hampshire this morning, catching himself just in time.

"We know, we know," he responded jovially as the crowd realised what he'd said. "It's hard to get used to. We got his thing the right way." He pointed at a group of men who were barracking him good-naturedly. "These are my old buddies over here from the shipyard."

Last month at an event in Fort Myers, Florida, he referred to the "Biden administration" before correcting the phrase and adding as he laughed and crossed himself: "Believe me, that wasn't a Freudian slip. Oh Lordy day, I tell ya."

The veteran Delaware senator may have an autocue and a set of notes in front of him but he tends to ignore them. "Let me begin by saying Happy Columbus Day," he said at the start of the Rochester event. "I may be Irish but I was smart enough to marry Italian."

Biden pointed at a woman in the front row and said: "This beautiful lady at the front goes, 'Yeah'. Lord God!"

Habitually prone to indulging in a little hyperbole, Biden pronounced that Barack Obama had assembled "the finest economic team this country has ever seen".

Biden had earlier been introduced by local state senator Jacalyn Cilley who implored voters "not to be hoodwinked" by John McCain and Sarah Palin and predicted that "the mud that's being slung around is about to get thick enough to mire tyres in a New Hampshire spring".

She added: "We are running against folks who want to instill fear in us and make us them afraid enough to follow them to the gates of hell."

None of this changes the fact that whether Biden goes in for hyperbole and gets a little carried away with his own rhetoric or not, he's still not an intellectual lightweight which Sarah most certainly is, wink, wink.

I think it would be awesome if:

1). Obama gets elected and is assassinated shortly thereafter, making Biden president.

2). McCain gets elected and drops dead shortly thereafter, making Palin president.

Why? Just because it would make the politics interesting. If you think THIS election is ridiculous, just imagine how ridiculous the next one will be if either one of the above happens.

The race baiting, conspiracy theories and other nonsense that would go down in the event of #1 would just be priceless. The four years of Bush III that would go down in the event of #2 would be quite entertaining.

Well, she has a degree in Journalism, has raised a family and has won the office of Mayor, and then Governor of Alaska......

And your accomplishments and educational prowess, Madame? Me thinks that Sarah dwarfs most of you here in this forum (as evidenced by the inordinate amount of time you folks hover in this forum) and involving Biden.

Biden's so intellectually challenged that when he needs to make a coherent statement in an attempt to get his point across in a clever way, his only choice is to plagiarize it from someone else..........
