Hi, my wife and I are almost ready to send in I-130 and other forms but we are stuck on proving that we have lived together.

After we got married (April 28, 2007) we worked on a Cruise Ship as Dancers. We have done two ships together and have lived in the same room both times. The total time we have been on these ships has been around 1 year. To prove that we have lived together, can we send in a letter from our Crew Purser that states that we have lived together? Will this be sufficient as proof?

Also for the G-325A, I want to state that I also have been residing on two Ships for a year. How do I fill out the form (G325A) to say this?

Having lived together is not a requirement... Affidavits of bonafide relationship is OK....

What is your wife's current status? Are you submitting I-130 & I-485?

YMMV

I think it would be a good idea to have that letter. It can't hurt. Married & living together sounds like proof of a relationship to me. Make sure you have pictures and whatever other joint proof you can provide as well.

Good luck.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

For the G-325A, Your US Domicile address, where you get your mail. Same for foreign citizen's address, their home address.

Lastly, you posted this to the AOS form are you adjusting status? From what visa? Warning, a person CANNOT adjust status from a Crew-man's visa (C1 D1 Visa).

Just to make things clear I am the foreign spouse and I haven't been in Australia since July 2007. I have been working and traveling since. Do you think this situation would change anything?

The restriction that a person cannot adjust status from a crew visa does not have exceptions. Your spouse will need to file the I-130 and you will need to attend an interview. The interview will be conducted in your country of residence--I assume that is still Australia.

That is exactly what I was trying to say, if your visa is a crewman's visa that allows short stays in the USA, you CANNOT adjust status, the application WILL be rejected.

10. Who Is Not Eligible to Adjust Status.

B. You entered the United States as a nonimmigrant crewman;

How did you enter on a visa waiver if you are already married?

It sounds like the OP had a crewman's visa, unless the cruise ship he was working on was Australian, and his USC wife was the one with a work visa.

Sorry for all of the confusion. My wife is the US Citizen and I am a "Visitor" on a Visa Waiver.

i don't get it.
