Obama supporters in NoVa receiving white guilt letters

During the past few weeks, people who posted “Obama for President” signs in their yards in Clarendon and in the nearby neighborhood of Lyon Park received this letter. Addressed to “Dearest Neighbor,” the letter informed them, in a tone meant to be friendly and helpful, that they should consider the possibility that they are supporting Obama to cover up for their own, hidden racism.

Dear Concerned Neighbor,

Thank you for your concern about my mental health and my possibly perceived deep seated issues of White Guilt. I appreciate this concern. It makes me feel safe to know people like you are looking out for the people of America.

I would like to pose a question to you as well. Do you ever stop to think perhaps your perception of Obama supporters as having White Guilt may actually be an indication of your own stupidity, ignorance, and complete descent into racism as well? Are you worried that your pre-occupation with this notion of "White Guilt" on the part of Obama supporters is actually your own hidden racism shining its light for the world to see? For it appears, and I say this only to be kind and to help a fellow American, that you are the one who is actually concerned with race.

I wish you luck in your journey to self-awareness. I also hope you find healing in the knowledge that your campaign to attempt to make Obama supporters acknowledge their "guilt" is in fact pointless and will yield no fruit, save the fruits of your imagination.
