Hello everyone,

My fiancee came to the US via the K-1 process, and we just recently filed for AOS and received NOA1 on all of the documents we sent in (I-485, Work Authorization, and Advanced Parole), and also receieved a date for Biometrics (next week).

She had to send something to the Japanese consulate to acknowledge our marraige in Japan, and they sent it back because there was a mistake on our marraige license! (!!!) We got married on 5/23/08, and the marraige license said 5/26/08 (!!!!!) Neither of us noticed it (The minister who did our ceremony wrote the wrong date), and apparently USCIS didn't notice (or check it yet).

We went to the court and got a judge to sign an amended version of our marraige license, and re-sent everything to the Japanese consulate, so we're all set on that side of it...but I'm stuck here wondering what I should do with USCIS? They have the original marraige license with the incorrect date on it (However, all of our paperwork has the correct date on it)...

Do I have to re-file...? Should I call someone/send something in?

Any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated, as always.

nothing to do until they look at your file... if it is a big enough deal they will RFE you and ask... sit tight and wait

Hope it won't be a big deal. My wife filled out the papers and wrote her maiden name as her new middle name...didn't do that on the original paperwork. Ugh, what a headache

I'm not sure there is anything to worry about.

None of the forms (I-485, G-325a, I-765, nor I-131) ask for date of marriage (as far as I remember, the only thing we sent to give date of marriage was the marriage certificate itself).

True. I do worry about the middle name being added onto the amended marraige certificate though...I wish I would have been there with her to do it, seems like that wasn't a smart thing to do.

If there is no RFE and the green card comes through fine, is it possible to add a middle name to it?

We had a mistake on ours too.

My hubby's place of birth was incorrect. We mailed it in anyway with the AOS and have since requested a corrected one. If they notice it I'll simply mail off a copy of the corrected certificate.

I would sit tight.

If you have an interview, corrections can be made at that time

YMMV
