don't tase me bro!!

but seriously.. mace is not as effective now, it has been proven it doesn't affect all perpetrators

yeah its not police grade. Taser will work though - especially for 15 seconds. Women just need the gumph to press it for 15 seconds until they see foaming at the mouth.

I am not sure why people are mentioning well if the women hits first then it is ok to hit back.. the girl in this case didn't even touch the guy...

and if you watch the vid he didn't just hit her he slugged her right in the face...

Oh, I agree, Marilyn, the girl didn't touch him, and laying a hand on her was completely unjustified...he should be in jail. I was simply responding to Amby's side point.

I think Akdiver is just trying to get a reaction... at least I hope that's what he's doing.
*Sigh*...never underestimate a citizen's contempt for the police.

I believe you are serious, I just find your contempt for all cops incomprehensible; it's not like we live in anything approaching a police state.

...according to you.

Give me just one good reason why I would want to voluntarily involve myself in a public dispute involving the police, some dude getting run over, and the dude who ran him over? There isn't one.

Feel free to exercise your right of petition and speech outside the DNC. Or outside the motorcade pathway to the Presidential inauguration in January.

Feel free to get AT&T or Verizon service (or talking to someone with these services) without having every conversation you have recorded.

Try taking pictures of certain buildings from public streets.

And you should be thanking whatever god you have that Alberto Gonzales resigned. According to him, even American citizens, if deemed in any fashion to be this broad and ambiguous definition of a "terrorist", they would lose their habeas corpus rights and would allow them to be indefinitely put into a military-style detention camp without trial or placed somewhere overseas.

It seems to me you're way too damn smug.

I have been where police states were before and I can say we are not a police state. I can agree with Steven on this part though. Homeland security and other actions of the Feds for years now is a serious erosion of our liberties. When I first heard about the Homeland security and other devices contemplated the first reaction I had was that we are on the road to a police state.

I think many here better start looking at this agency and the powers they have now.

Punching anyone for being disagreeable is a poor do. A man punching a teenage girl for being mouthy is a very poor do and it has nothing to do with sexual equality. Cheering the guy on for punching a mouthy teenager is typical but still bizarre.

I suppose the teenager should have just deferred to her elders, after all, age before beauty and cutting in line? Pah, what does that matter, she obviously had no right to complain.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Children should be seen, not heard.

Preferably not seen either.

Ok. I went and found the vid and I can say one thing. She may watch out who she mouths off to in the future.

Los Angeles police are looking for a man who beat up a 16-year-old girl at a McDonald's counter after she complained about him cutting in line.

Police announced their investigation Tuesday night and posted surveillance video online.

Police say the girl, her 5-year-old niece and a friend were standing in line on Sept. 14 at the McDonald's in South Los Angeles. The suspect and two young boys then approached the counter when the 16-year-old started arguing with the man over who was first in line.

Police say the girl swore at the man, who then got angry and punched her in the face several times.

The suspect left with the boys in a red pickup truck.

The teenager was treated for her injuries at a hospital and released.
