Hi, I don't know if it is a good place for this topic and I didn't find informations about that here in VJ.

So I wondered something, do you think that the elections can slow down the visa process ?

I know that in France this kinda big event slow down everything even if they don't have direct link (like immigration with gouvernement elections)

Thanks

Hi there. I don't think the US elections will slow down the case processes. The only thing that comes to mind that would slow down the processing is if there was a major natural disaster near the service centers or a major terrorist attack on the U.S. Let's pray that never happens.

I really doubt it. It's a separate branch of the the govt. that has nothing to do with elections.

The US economy more then anything worries me for visa processing....I worry about job cuts in the USCIS. Hopefully it will be a non-issue for us all.

pas du tout, seulement in case of a natural disaster. An example the folks from Texas specially in the houston area, will have additional wait time due to the hurricane

Not for petition processing unless the natural disaster was in the region of the USCIS service center. Possible for those who are awaiting AOS or other interviews at the local Houston office.

YMMV

I seem to recall a thread here on vj talking about certain types of cases being transferred from VSC to CSC so that VSC could try and process naturalization applications in time for the elections. It appeared to result in a slowdown of petitions at both service centers. I can't seem to find the thread but I'm pretty sure I read it in the last month.
