Wow. I just had a friend tell me that it won't matter when my fiance gets here because the "government" will be keeping a close eye on him for years to come since he come from a muslim country and could have his citizenship revoked down the road.

Obviously I know that's not true. But I can't believe she said that. I'm so sick of my friends right now and their damn opinions

(((hugs))))

Don't give them any energy. My family swears that the people who moved in next to us are cia spying on me and my family. lol. Just chalk it up to ignorance and move on.

 ok so I just got a mental image of brig with binoculars/telescope, computers, the works all decked out in her livin' room spying on the spys next door to see if they're spying on her.... *sigh* oh what sedentary minds will think up.....

I am a major organizer...in fact just got done doing zaids room and weeding out all the "baby" things and putting them in plasticcontainers for storage for my next baby ...

aside from baby things im a firm believer in getting rid of things...if you havent used it or wore it in 12 months, you do not need it...DONATE IT...there are sooo many people who cannot afford things who would really appreciate them....my dad likes to keep things for unnessecary reasons and im slowly geting him to get rid of things one by one...

If space is an issue in your home...Use plastic containers...i have like 30 lol...i put everything in double garbage bags , then put em in containers...that way they can be stacked in a closet, attic, or crawl space without being damaged...

junk mail, i agre with amal...i throw it out immediately.it stacks up soo quickly...

Do you have a camera on me girl???? Honestly it's the weirdest situation. It's a man and a woman (not totally convinced they're husband and wife yet) and occaisionally a 1 yr old and I think an older son about 13 or 14. In the summer I NEVER saw the kids out playing. EVER. They used the outdoor grill ONCE. I saw the baby daughter once and the son once...this is since May I think. They did have two gigantic parties and there were empty cases of beer out front on trash day but other than that nada.

Very strange because across the street there's a family with two young babies, I think 1 yrs and 3 yrs and they're always out front playing so wouldn't ya think the woman would bring the 1 yr old to say hi?

So...maybe a spy OR maybe he's divorced and just got the house to be able to have the kids visit him which is maybe why they're not around so much. I'll have to put my kids on the case now that they're back to school. they know more about what goes on in my street then the people living in it!

Oh nothing major going on here :bonk:

I wear a mean, dark pair of shades
They can’t see my eyes unless my head is bent, you dig?
We fly high, no lie, you know this ballin!

You got really good tips.... I worry that "Oh but this is such a good piece of clothing, what if I need it later?" (about anything I haven't worn in 12 months). Does it mean I have to toss my snowboard -- haven't used it in 2 years.. lol

My closet is a total mess. I don't have a dresser, so I use really cheap plastic cubes to put my clothes in. It's falling apart so it looks like a wreck!

Just vacuumed the room, put the wash in, fixed the wall mirror, and am starting to put stuff away.... whoopie.

Jackie, organization keeping you away from the computer? It's not... I rather be on computer than organizing

I went through all my clothes and decided what to donate, put them in a garbage bag, into the garage to donate when I had time... just found out today my cats sprayed all over it. @#$#$%

Star_dragon, its going to happen as disappointing as it is. Someone said something awful to me yesterday I'm still not over. Our local Mervyns is closing for good and they said, "Oh well its probably because they have all those hijab wearing Muslims working there. I know so many people who won't go there because of it!"

That was a nice fight we had. *sigh*

I have a confession to make. If I'm in the grocery store around 6 pm and I pass a woman in full hijab, I have to stop myself from staring...

into her grocery cart and asking her what's for iftar.

Every so often when I see a woman in hijab I want to say - "Ramadan Kareem" but I'm sure she'd look at me like - what's up?

thats so funny, my husband and I were just talking about that a couple of days ago because I do the same thing (look at the women in hijab and think about saying something to them) - we were laughing thinking that the women are probably looking at me wondering what sort of nasty racist remark this blond white chick staring at them is going to say when in fact I am thinking to say something like ramadan kareem. I guess I should just go ahead and say it :)

Hmmm... never thought of asking what's for Iftar! I just can't help myself to look (probably stare) at women in hijab cuz usually I think they are so beautiful :luv: . I'll have to ask what's for Iftar next time!

In other news, since my hubby will be away for Eid, I wasn't sure what I'd do. Last night one of my students (from Iraq) asked if I'd come to her house for Eid dinner! I'm so excited... she didn't want me to be alone and asked me to join her & her husband. :luv:

Thanks guys....Apparently my friend said she's just telling me the reality and that I need to develop a "thick skin"...like she understands what I'm going through. I don't need the lessons from people. It really pisses me off
