Everybody:

I got approval on 9/8/08, no hard copy. I called today in the AM and my case has not been received yet.

Where I am in the NVC process? Almost done, just waiting for them to generate everything and pay everything.

1. DS-3032 -

I believe I dont need this because I have a lawyer (but it seems I'm the lawyer with everything I am doing to not sit around and wait till he gets everything!!)

2. DS-230 - Part 1 signed by Beneficiary & Part 2 (Not signed)

I have all the documents already, only thing I need is his PCC. All documents have been translated from Spanish to English and notarized. I got his passport pictures and everything!

3. I-864EZ - Everything done. My boss just gave me the letter, have all paystubs, copies of tax returns and just in case ordered the tax transcripts.

I think I am all set, desperately waiting!!!!!!!!!!!! AGAIN

Does the CR-1/IR-1 visa expire after 6 months the way I believe a K-1 does? The reason I ask is that we have decided that I will go to Nepal in late May and we will go through POE together in early July(since our court marriage was finalized on June 27 2007 he will be getting an IR-1). With that in mind should I be going gung ho at this point or is there a point when I should delay sending anything in and we will not be penalized for it? Since KTM Embassy normally schedules interviews very quickly after receving the file there is no time to book a ticket in time, especially since I work in academia and his interview will likely fall during midterms or finals. I think we are going to be delayed anyway since he needs to go to his home village to get one of his PCCs and because of the flooding in southern Nepal there may be a problem in him getting there or back to KTM. If he does need to go there I don't want him going when he needs to be in KTM waiting for papers from the embassy - if there is a deadline for him to return them to the embassy I don't want him stuck in his village.

Any update guys? NVC still does not have me in the system but this is what i have done so far.

Rough draft of DS-3032 email already done. Soon as it is generated i will email mine. I have proofread and spell-checked over and over again.

Completed I-864EZ. I have my w-2 ready to go. I have already sent my husband on a chase for his PCC. I am going to have to nag him to make sure he does it.

Now i am going to start on my husband's DS-230. I am a bit late but tomorrow i will email him the part for him to sign.

Where is everyone else?

Me too - I am reminding him in chat almost daily...

For the employment letter do we need to get it from the HR department or from our immediate supervisor?

I got mine from my HR Department.

Thanks MrsRowe!!

In that case I am wondering what we should do - if he arrives at POE on July 6, say, the latest he can receive the visa would be the first week in January. I recall reading at some point someone who had a similar situation and they were told they could delay sending the documents to NVC for a few weeks and it wouldn;t affect their case. Once it gets to the embassy you need to go by their schedule. Does anyone know about that?

I think it is. When i tried to get it over the phone, one of the operators said, I can't give that to you yet. LOl. Which means she got it, she just wont' give it to me. I think it's generated when case number is issued.

THAT'S what I'm talking about.

These damned Visa Pirates make it sound like we're trying to order a set of kitchen knives..."Please wait 4 to 6 weeks for processing".

This is our LIVES our LOVES, our HAPPINESS.

Keep on 'em Jummy, explain that your spouse is much more than a set of kitchen knives or a workout video.

Best of luck to everyone, so say we all.
