I've just come back from holiday and have a quick question for all you lucky people getting cards without interviews.

Have you all been getting an email or some notification before getting the card in the mail, or is the card in the mail a complete surprise? Also are you all from CSC or from all over?

Hi There! I got my interview though I was from CSC but I knew why because of my special case problem. Anyway, I didn't get any updates from CRIS nor from the website until now. I have my green card already and all that but the status still says.. pending to the office to which it was transferred!

So there is a big possibility that they might be working on all of your papers guys and will just surprise you one day with welcome letter.

Don't lose hope because once you get it.. it's worth it!

Just consider that it's another test of patient..

Again I will ask this question for those who already had their interviews:

Do we have to bring with us any paper from the local police department stating my husband was never arrested or detained? 0r do we just bring nothing ?

If you already have it Nagish or it's easy for you to get it.. I suggest bring everything you can bring. It's always been good to be over prepared than sorry.

First of and most of all, Congratulations to all the recent approvals!

Everyone I do have a question though, today my husband called USCIS office and had talked to a lady there to ask about our case. She was helpful in some parts, but after further talking to her she put us on hold. When she returned I was kind of hoping she would say you are approved, but only wishful thinking.... ... She informed us that the finger prints that was taken on the Biometrics had problems. It would be different if it was the first request, but this will be the 3rd time they will need to get finger prints... I had asked is there any way we can just go do it, and I was told, you will need to wait until you get the request from an officer.

So, we asked anyway to know where we stand, and again just have to wait. WAIT!!!

I pray no one had to go through the finger prints like this, but does anyone have any advise?

Hello all,

Just wanted to give you guys the good news that We received our GC card today in the mail.............So happy that we don't have to do no paper work for at least 2 years. And I start my new job on Monday.........I hope we can all reunite within 2 years again to help each other with the removing conditions.

Congratulations to all that have gotten their approvals and their GC.........

Envy, you have been so awesome with the chart and you have made this forum so much more organized than any other one I have seen.

Hope to see all the Approvals on the chart and full of GC dates....

Eric was approved this morning at the San Antonio office! The interview was pretty quick and easy. It lasted about 20 minutes. It was scheduled for 10, but we got there at 9:15, and right after we passed through the metal detector, a man walked out of the elevator. The man who was standing at the metal detector told the elevator man, "Well, your 9 never showed up, but here is your 10!" The elevator man, who turned out to be our interviewing officer, asked us if we wanted to go then, or if we wanted to wait until 10. I told him we'd love to go right then, so we got in the elevator with him and went to his office.

First, he made us both hold up our right hands and swear to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He then wanted to see our birth certificates and get a copy of mine (I'd never turned it in, just a passport). He then asked me how many brothers and sisters I had, and I told him (one brother, one sister, one step sister, two step brothers). It sounded like he was going to ask Eric their names- to try to see if Eric actually knew my family, but then he never mentioned siblings again. He then asked me if I'd ever been on a private plane. I thought that was a weird question, but I told him that yes, my dad owns a tiny old cessna from the 1940s with two other guys, and I'd been up in it a few times. The officer then said, "oh, like you fly to mexico in it too, right?" and i was like "uhhh no! we just fly out to the hill country to eat barbeque- we don't fly to mexico in it!" Then he asked Eric if he had ever been in my dad's plane, and eric told him he had. it was kinda weird, and i didn't (and still don't) really understand where he was trying to go with it. He then heard me say something in Spanish to eric and he said "Oh, you speak Spanish?" and i told him that i did. He asked if both of my parents were alive and if they were at the wedding. He asked us if we had any kids or previous marriages (no) and then told us that our I-130 had been approved. (yay!) Then he said he needed to just make sure that Eric's background check had gone through and that all the correct medical papers were there. Once he saw that was all there, he said he was telling the computer to send Eric his LPR card, and that if we didn't get it in 4 months to make an infopass appointment. He said "I'm telling the computer to give you an LPR card, do if you don't get it in the mail, it's the computer's fault, not mine." hmmm kinda weird. Then he took up eric's EAD and said he'd no longer need it now that he was an LPR. After I asked him to, he stamped Eric's passport so that Eric can go to Mexico before gets his LPR card in the mail. Then he started telling us jokes. He said "What did the doorbell sound like before the Bush administration?" "CLin-Ton" (said like "ding dong"). Eric and i both laughed. Then he said, "let me walk you out, because another couple tried to walk themselves out and they accidentally went to the wrong room, and they both got deported to mexico ha ha ha! i'm just joking" Eric and i laughed nervously and went down the elevator and shook his hand and said goodbye. All in all it was pretty easy- i had a HUGE box of pictures, bank statements, etc., but he didn't look at a single one.

we are so grateful to be over with the interview!

From my point of view, with no interview :

I got an email telling me my welcome to the US letter had been sent (02.20.09), my welcome to the US letter in the mail (02.23.09), an email telling me my card had been sent(02.24.09), and my GC in the mail (02.26.09).

My case was transfered to CSC at some point last year, sorry I don't have that email saved to say exactly when.

My case was transferred Nov 5/08 to California. On January 13, I received a touch on it. Today, I opened my email to find that they have send a RFE yesterday. I should have known things were to quiet to be true.

Oh well, I'm going away for the weekend and will deal with this RFE when I return if it has arrived.

Vida, No it is impossible to get anything from my local police. I went in asking them to write me a letter saying my husband has never been arrested or detained and they told me I dont need that because if anyone from USCIS calls they will tell them he has never been arrested or detained. Then they told me to go home and don't worry. :blink:
