Is it me or does the waiting for NOA2 seem more difficult since the beginning of January? It's like watching paint dry.... and it's too cold for it to dry so it's taking forever ;).

On a positive note, each day brings us closer to our approval date, whenever that may be. But please let it be soon...

Apparently it feels harder the closer to the NOA2 you get.

The only reason I felt more anxious was because people were getting approved everywhere I looked, even though we had filed before them. Then it was constantly checking the website.

Overall, we waited nearly 5 months and it didn't seem so bad until the flood of approvals started coming in.. as long as you don't have high expectations.

I think I should take a skiing trip to VT, to knock on their doors to see if anyone is actually in there.:)

I agree and maybe we could bake them some cookies and bring them some hot chocolate ;)

It seems like the closer you get to your estimated date ( mine often varies by 2 weeks from day to day) the harder it gets, the only thing helping me stay sane is thinking that it has been 111 days since my NOA1, so I should hear something soonish, even a touch would make me :) just to know that they have looked at our application, and here i go again stressing about tiny errors or things i may have done wrong on our application... :(

Guys, here is our timeline.

09/12/08: I129f sent.

09/15/08: check deposited as evident by the receipt # on the back of the check scanned in my bank account.

Nothing so far as today. Not even a NOA1 or anything. Checked status on the USCIS website says following:

"On September 15, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."

According to this they should've mailed out NOA1 back in Sept, but I never got anything in mail. Wondering if this has happened to others?

You can call their office, others have sorted it out that way quite easily. On the other hand, the NOA1 doesn't matter that much- it says exactly what you have above. No more- no less. The only concern is that you might have the wrong address down.

It really does suck- paint drying or water boiling- they both take too d*** long!!! Its been 6.5 months since I've seen my man- the longest ever! Its amazing how close we've grown being apart but I want us to grow closer CLOSER!!! For me this especially sucks because if this doesn't happen soon then I won't be able to classify him as my dependent for the fellowship I applied for to go to Africa next year- which means we will have to come with the money ourselves to pay for him to accompany me!!! Plus, I wanted us to spend some time here in the states with my family before we leave this hemisphere. AAAAAHHHHHH!

Ouch- sorry- I know there are people waiting much longer than us but that only makes me more frustrated and worried- you know the old "picking the wrong line in the grocery store deal".

The thing is that we didn't really pick the wrong line... we never had a choice, as it’s predetermined by the state you live in. So unless you want to keep moving, depending on which centre is processing the petitions faster, you are either in luck or not. But it is utterly unacceptable that there should be such a big difference in number of approvals per week. The score for this week so far is 37-8 (K1 only) for CSC. I am so depressed now I could cry. :crying:

I'm a bit confused here. It’s really is none of my business but I'm just curious so if you choose not to answer, fair enough.

Are you saying that it's possible to live outside the USA while he's still in the process of getting all his papers? I might be completely wrong as I haven't really looked into AOS thingie (I’m assuming you'd be going to your fellowship post after he adjust his status), but don't you have to reside in the US for a certain period of time per year or have an intention to do so? Or is your fellowship for 6 months only? Will he be able to get all his paperwork sorted out in time to allow him to leave the country?

Well, whatever the answers are, I hope you get your approval soon.

Well, it seems luck has nothing to do with Sep applicants yet.

None of us VT has seriously been approved yet - with 2 exceptions, so I would not say we are counting on luck at this point, rather than on the stupid slow movement of lazy people, who aparently, don't know how to do their jobs right in sufficient matters.
