Guys,

09/15/08: I-129 mailed.

09/19/08: check cashed.

We haven't gotten anything after that. How do ppl receive NOA1? Is that something we have to request when sending I-129? They cashed the check already.

We haven't heard anything yet. Kind of anxious.

Bigticket77 - your touch will probably be an approval by tonight or tomorrow - hold on, it should be soon! Congrats in advance.

Gordec - Regarding the NOA1 - You should have gotten it in the mail. it is labeled in top right corner as "I-797C, Notice of Action" I think they stamp the receipt number (should start with WAC) on the back of the cashed check.

Sorry all, but I need to vent.

I've been a member on VJ for many months but have never posted much, just a few times when I had questions about the process and filling out the forms, etc.

etc etc etc.......................

Well I'm really glad I wrote my long rant last night, because that must have been the karma I needed to get the CSC to do their thing.

WE"RE APPROVED!

Just got the NOA2 email and it's also updated on the website. Woohoo!!

For the record, we made it to spot #52 on Igor's list.

Good luck everyone else, they're coming through quickly now

***UPDATE***

Sooooo

I just called NVC and spoke with a VERY nice guy. He said that they just received our NOA2 today. I'm assuming that means a lot of other Sept. NOA2s should be there today or tomorrow, because we were all approved within 2 or 3 days of one another. Secondly, I've been getting scared reading about all the rumors of "AP" and background checks that can hold up petitions for 6 weeks. So I asked about this as well. He told me that for K1 petitions the NVC doesn't do any sort of background check, and that all the processing is done at the consulate. He said that the NVC usually processes a K1 and sends it off within 7 days. Now...I know some people have been told contradicting things at the call centers...but I sure hope what he told me is true!

SO EXCITED!

and congratulations to the newly approved September filers. It's so great that we'll all be able to ask each other's advice as we go further into the process!

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE APPROVALS. I lot track of who is left without approvals now. Seems like Sept group has moved along pretty well! I hope all the remaining ones go quickly also.

Dilbert, you seem to be on the right track, but here is a link to the check list at Tokyo Embassy - I dont know if every embassy has this, and one or two things are specific to Japan, but that is easy to tell. Anyway this might be useful for you too.

http://tokyo.usembassy.gov/e/visa/tvisa-niv-kchecklist.html

your Fiancee will also need proof of on-going relationship - it vaguely mentions it in the checklist, but I suggest you send a Letter of Intent stating you want to marry her and are still planning to marry her within 90 of her entry to the US.

What's Igor's list? I'm hoping for our approval soon to. Does the approval time depending on country? Congrats to all!

Igor's list is a compliation of all the people on Visa Journey (which is a small sampling of all the Visas reqeusted). It is a simple way to see the timing of other peoples NOA1 vs yours and when they are getting approvals. The further you move up the list, the more likely you are that your approval is coming soon, but it is VERY likely that people behind you on the list will get approved before you.

No, it is not dependant on the country. Here is a link to Igor's list. I think somewhere on VJ main page there is a new improved version of Igors list.

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/default.aspx

Sorry, I didnt look before writing if you were VSC or CSC, this is for CSC, but you can click on the link at the top if you need VSC. Also, click on the stats page and you can see a summary of the number of approvals (week by week) for both CSC and VSC.

Sarah, I think most approvals fly through NVC in a matter of days, but it seems some get stuck somewhere for some reason. Hopeully you wont have any problems. Good luck - R U ready for the interview? wont be long now!
