Just got RFE in AVR.. and unfortunately it's a long weekend, so will not even know until Tuesday, bummer..

they got my 864 on 21st, and 230 on 28th, yesterday they were "undergoing a review" per operator and avr, today changed to "nvc has reviewed you packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete.."

Anyone can give any ideas what it might be with the message like that?

It is 864 or it would say "financial forms" in avr?

Is it about supporting docs for 230, or would it say "supporting documents" in avr ?

is it about 230 itself?

Anyone please? I will have a very long and stressful weekend...

Thanks for your help.

With live rep, that is the problem: long weekend, not until Tuesday now.

Did live rep told you the issue with RFE ? was it real or a "fake RFE" that a lot of people get?

I read that fake rfe appears in avr when 864 is processed and 230 not yet. Or the other way around.

Sorry to hear you got and RFE. The RFE for my DS230 was exactly the same message. Did you send the correct marriage certificate and/or birth certificate...in the native language?

Thanks..

Yes, I did, originals + certified translations + copies.. marriage, birth, police cert.. photos..

maybe they did not like that we wrote name and NVC case # on the back of the photos?

Maybe on 230 where it says: "Parents: date of death if applies" - we left blank, since they are alive and well, and the questions states "if applies".. so we assumed to leave bank if does not apply.

I read some older threads here that this might be a "false rfe", because 8-28 avr said "documents received, wait for the review ..." and they just received 230 on 8-27.

Not sure, but seems strange they reviewed it in 1 day.

I was curious if the message would be more specific would there be a real missing docs, would it say " missing supporting documents " or something like that.

Or if it's false rfe they are waiting to process 230 and join them ?

The message is the same whether it is a 'false' RFE or a real one, there is no way to tell with the AVR.

Congratulations on case complete!!

Thank you very much for your reply. At least I know now that it's not 864, was worried about it, it was a pile of various papers..

Since my AVR says just a generic "information missing or incomplete" I hope it's something on 230 we missed (dates of death of parents that are alive and well?)..

Or it's just a fake rfe, waiting to enter 230, they just got it on 28th.

Thanks!

It was a false RFE.

Called operator, they processed 864 but did not process 230, and were waiting for it, therefore the message said "missing or incomplete". Takes a few days to get to 230 I guess, meanwhile AVR generates RFE.

Had a terrible stressful weekend thanks to stupid avr :bonk:

But Tuesday call to the operator turned out a real rfe, for 864. Semantics, they did not like that I used a verb in job description, wanted a noun. Had to send them corrected 864 and a letter. Kind of stupid, but ok, since they still processing 230 should not be a delay because of that. Still hoping to be done this week.

Word of warning to all: seems like if they want to, they can issue rfe for any reason, I suspect they do it just to make it look like they work hard and pay attention.

thanks.

marked self employment on line 22 as marketing. Operator told me they want specific "position" or "job title".

What in the hell is a position or job title in self employment? receptionist/janitor/driver/CFO/CEO ??? :bonk:

Can't really argue with them, so sent a letter with corrected 864.

At least the pile of 864 supporting docs are fine. Not sure they went through all of that though
