Its interesting to see the contrast - compare somewhere like Mazatlan (a fairly historic town) with somewhere like Puerto Vallarta and the difference is striking (hard to believe its the same country).

Problem here is that not many people, specially those that are anti-immigration, know what is Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta and will never know what's like earning 10 dlls a day.

Aren't they exactly the same??? You know, like poor, barren, full of Mexicans? :jest:

Exactly my point, them Mexicans are all poor, uneducated and live in shacks

I wonder how peejay will feel about having another of his old threads resurrected for the second time? :P

I'll go with.....pretty darn proud.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

If Americans realize that the weed they are smoking or the coke they are snorting has blood on it would they be so inclined to continue their use?

Worrying about the source of your buzz the last thing on your mind when you smoke weed or snort coke or whatever. Whether you see it as a personal weakness or a disease, it's a self-centered activity and others can drop dead as just so long as the drug supply continues.

I did see a lot of shacks in Mazatlan (not so much in Puerto Vallarta - though the rural parts I went to outside of the city were pretty run-down with unsurfaced dirt roads) - within a few miles of high-end hotel districts with lots of shops selling diamond jewelery to American tourists.

Right. You are said it better than I put it. I do agree that some people are still going to seek their drug of choice. However, I don't agree that at all recreational drug users are generally apathetic towards the issue. If awareness is raised about the source of where there drug of choice comes from then they are generally shocked to find out. If you point out the 800 murders along the Texas boarder with Mexico and the 50 murders this year already along the boarder in California and make the connection you can see the look of surprise on peoples faces.
