JG I'm stalking you

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Age difference shouldn't be a problem for you, though there have been reports that for some countries it is a problem. It appears to depend on what is culturally accepted and whether or not a bona fide relationship can be proven. It doesn't seem like you need to worry.

Welcome aboard!

My NZ Fiancee and I have an 18 year Age difference. She is 22 and I am 40. We NEVER think about it when we are together, it literally and truly isnt a factor in love. However, its the only reason I can think of that we may be denied the Fiancee Visa.

How can we best prevent this? Or will it not be a concern?

(Oh, and btw, this site is FANTASTIC)

Not a concern at all. As long as both are over the legal age to marry. We have a 14 year difference and it is not a concern to us and was not to te embassy. Our visa is in hand! Alla will be here Sept. 11 !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary

So happy for you, haven't seen you much around in a while - good luck with the remainder of the journey!:dance:

Hi,

Your case can be an inspiration. My fiancee, Tess, who is still in Davao, PI, is 13 under but I think we are tied at even par! :jest::jest::jest:

Anything going on in Davao with this RP Government and the MILF issues? I know they want Mindanao to be a Muslim state but I don't think the Government is going to go for that.

I don't know, I haven't been to the PI in 35 years until last June when I visited Tess in Davao. But I hope the Moro mini uprisings in Mindanao are just trivial and isolated.

So far they have been having problems around Iligan which is on the other side of the island from Davao. I know a lot of expats living in CDO but they seem to feel safe.

Although Cagayan de Oro is pretty close to Iligan, I think everything should be fine in CDO. Davao should be okay too, I hope. I think the problem areas are Zamboanga and Sulu and some areas of Lanao.

I hope they get it worked out but from what I have been reading the outcome doesn't look good, at least for the the southwestern part of Mindanao.

If the non USC is female younger and asian it is fine. If the younger non USC is male and black then the KKK mind set of the united states takes over and you are in for a hard time

Well, my fiance is a male Guinean, 12 years younger than me, and I am a white female. We had no problems with our age difference or verifying our relationship. We are on AP for security clearance, and that is really difficult, but after what happened on 9/11 I can see why security processes have been made to be more stringent.

I think the statement "the KKK mindset of the United States" is a very negative, generalistic, and unfair comment. There are horrible people wherever you go in the world, and there are also wonderful people wherever you go in the world. After having spent months in poverty stricken and underdeveloped Western Africa, I believe that people here should realize we are very fortunate for what we have.

Send out positive energy and it will come back your way.

Inshallah.

Hi , I am 47 and female, my husband well fiance is 26, we where married by proxy in Texas but since the uscis doesnt recognise that we had to file a K1 fiance. Everything has gone smoothly thus far, however I got a call from our attorney yesterday saying that our age difference is probably going to throw up a big red flag when he goes into his interview at the consulate there in Australia. We are scared to death to say the least. We havent seen each other sionce feb 2007, when he came over on a waver visa. But we speak everyday on the phone or over yahoo. Ive heard some horror stories and am panicing so is he, we want so badly to be together... Dont know what we will do if they dont give him his visa. They say you have to prove your relationship is bona fide.. how can you make a total stranger believe you? They say if its the woman who is older, its even more difficult and more likely they will not pass it.. Please someone tell me something, we have been praying and hoping for so long. HELP???

Not visiting for a year and a half won't help you show bona fides. Visits are the best evidence. What kind of evidence DO you have?

He has been here before, He came for 3 months Dec1st2006 thru feb 28th 2007, He wanted to come back for a visit, but the lawyer told us that since we started our paperwork he couldnt come here on a waiver while we were in this process. So the only contact we have had has been the telephone or yahoo.. which he has called every day without fail, and has all the calling cards to prove it. We were going to get married while he was here, but we were told that, it would not be a good idea, because they would think siomething was up, and he could even get banned from comming entirely, so he went back to Australia. In the mean time we thought well... we want to be married so.. we got married by proxy. Then found out that uscis did not recognise that, so the lawyer said we needed to file as fiance, and thats what we have done. Everything has gone smoothly as I said, however now he has his appointment set for the 16th of this month and I was told that the difference in our age was going to throw up a red flag, and we are panicing. We love each other sooo much, we complete each other and cant bear the thought that they would turn us down.

If you have not seen each other in person between the proxy marriage and the interview date, they you aren't married because the marriage hasn't been consumated. If you do see each other then USCIS could accept your marriage because it has been consumated. If you see each other again before he obtains his fiance visa, I don't think you want this proxy marriage to come to light.

Next time you do this, get your facts straight first. :star:
