With CSC letting returned petitions expire.. not much processing left to do is there? With luck they will get a chance to rebut, but CSC has changed the way they do things and earned a class action lawsuit as a result...

When the case has been returned to NVC/USCIS as visa refusal, do they actually say Additional Processing when one calls DoS?

Yes they say AP depending on who you talk to some people will say the case was returned for additional processing call USCIS but we know that is useless. Until you receive the letter from USCIS it is still under going AP. AP is a term they use loosely

Hey everyone..... well it looks like we may be getting some good news....not on my part but as i can see some of you all....i hope everyone else hears good news as well....im getting so tired of AP its almost august marking 13 months for me and my husband.... every time i call DOS I always attempt to assume theres good news but all i hear is oh still administrative processing. like the only difference im noticing these days is that everytime i call dos i get put on hold for 5 minutes by a specialist it makes me wonder what they are reading. if its good they're arent telling me. the lady today was like hopefully it'll be finishing soon. it made me wonder what she meant. than i asked her and shes like oh but there are no guarantees. what in the world does that mean. sighhhh...... is it almost done or not? thats all i wanna know.......

Its like throwing dice.. you never know who you will get.... depending on who answers the phone they may go that extra bit to tell you more.. most won't...

Its unbelievable how much different finding out someone is actually doing something with the case can make you feel...

is there a time limit for AP? for example something that says after so many months they have to make a decision on your case.

I think I can handle 4-5 months without loosing my mind, checking my status, calling and so on but 13 months in AP is too damn long

Married: 6/5/2009

I-130 Sent: 11/6/2009

NOA1:11/13/2009 (CSC)

NOA2:02/12/2010 (3 months from NOA1)

NVC received:02/23/2010

Received DS-3032/I-864 Bill:02/23/2010

received IV bill:03/30/2010

Interview date:JULY 2, 2010 (consul said my husband was approved):)

Extra steps: Turns out in Juarez they do not tell you the final result of interview on the spot, you have to wait to receive a DHL package that contains the verdict and passport hopefully. Even though my husband was "approved" during interview (per consul answer) he was placed in Administrative Review on JUly 6 according to consulate operator.

Placed on AR post interview:07/06/2010

Picked up Blue slip AR (they kept his passport):7/09/2010

Visa issued: 09/15/2010

I was in AP for 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days

Completed my journey in 10 months, 2 weeks and 2 days

Nope, no time limit...there was a case in India where it took 8 years!! I think it was the first case where the petitioner filed a writ of mandamus, and the judge ordered the staff at the embassy at that time, where the case was under review, to make a decision.

OMG My heart goes out to you I am sure USCIS will reaffirm your case but all the wait it is heart wrenching. Your case is just what I am afraid of. We have our 2nd interview 8/18 and I don't feel very positive because I think they are grasping for anything to deny the visa. Why I don't know but it is hard to be happy when I read cases like yours. Good Luck I hope it moves fast at USCIS
