For those who did not apply for AP. Just AOS and EAD.

My wife filled for the AOS and EAD in mid-June 2008

Then a month later, we applied for the AP.

We applied because I read most of the topics here on this board that many apply for the AP anyway. Even if the applicant does not intend on using it.

I am just curious if most apply or do not apply for the AP.

hmm I didnt apply for AP because I thought I won't be going away "out of the country" ....Will stay here for a year or two before going back home..

I just applied for the EAD and AOS....I figured I won't need the AP and by the time I'm actually ready to travel I should have my greencard in hand...besides, i'm not too comfortable not having the greencard in hand and traveling with just AP....NEVER KNOW what could happen..I'll just wait on the greencard that way i know I'm safe...

I applied for EAD concurrently with my AOS. When I receive the NOA for AOS, I mailed my application for I-130, with written request to waive fee. Yesterday, I checked on line and my AP is approved already as of Aug 18. My EAD and AOS is pending because FBI lost my finger card and had to re-take it on Aug 21.

I didn't apply for the AP. I just sent the I-485 and the I-765. I don't plan to travel anywhere any time soon.

Hi for me i did not apply for AP only AOS and EAD and a lil while ago i recieved a WELCOME LETTER as a new resident here in the USA. and also, Agust 16, 2008 i recieved my EAD card. so soon my green card will be arrieved within this week.

yeah to apply AP is no fee. But to apply a AP it's a choice too.

Presumptuous to assume that we are all for not having applied for AP. I'm sure everyone has their individual reasons and I'm also sure that everyone has considered the possibility of an emergency back home and weighed that into their decision to apply or not.

we didn't apply for AP. And yes, we took into consideration about emergencies back home, so it was a personal choice.

We filed for the AP with our AOS/EAD, but only for emergencies... since it didn't cost extra, we figured why not go for it.
