Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 17, 2008
Embassy Review : Marco said that the interview was very easy. The people were all very helpful and friendly. His interview was scheduled for 7:30AM and he arrived about 6:55AM. He said that by 7:05AM, there were probably 120 people in line. He was third in line, and the first going for a K1 VISA. Everyone there for a K1 VISA will get a "W ticket number" while other visas get other letters. First you go to a window where someone checks your appointment level, your proof of payment, and tells you to put your documents in a different order. Then you go back to the waiting area and wait for your number to be called. The next window, they review your documents. They even gave Marco some of our proof for the Affidavit of Support back! They only said the employer letter, and 1 year of a tax transcript was sufficient. We had 3 years and then all of my 2008 pay stubs. The next part was more waiting. This time he said he waited like 1 hour and 20 minutes. He then got called to see the consular office. He asked him how we met and when we were getting married. Marco described everything "like a chat" not really as if he was getting interrogated. After that the office said, you'll have your VISA in a week
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
