Ok guys, so my fiance called the USCIS today..

He told them the story, unfortantly they weren't alloud to tell us weither or not our petition is in their hands (to be SURE) lol, but he gave them our names, and they said they would look in to it and send us a new NOA1 by mail and if we haven't received it within thursday next week, we should call them again..

So thats good news for us, atleast we now know that SOMETHING is happening and they are aware of us :)

So hopefully we will have the NOA1 by this week or early next week, I really hope!!

Yay i'm so happy, seems like they just 'forgot' us or something and we are expecting it very soon!! :)

Yaay, that sounds like good news! I've heard of this happening before. Let us know when you get it. (of course!)

- I just read how your fiance preposed to you, Gemmie..

That sounds so sweet and romantic!

My fiance preposed to me on his last day in Denmark, it was just him and me, was also very romantic

But then it was just extra hard to say goodbye few hours later, he left on 16th July and I won't see him untill I get the visa :(.

But it is worth it ;)

Awww I can understand that, the last day is when emotions are already running at their highest. A proposal as well! :wow:

Congrats to those who recieved their NOA1...

Now Im in the mood for more sweet engagment stories, anyone else got a good one?

I was at her father's home for diner. We had talked about it before my visit. I wanted to do it the traditional Ukrainian way. So about half way through the diner, I got up and asked her father for his permission to mary his daughter. He said YES YES YES YES YES!!!!! I then went to my bag and got her ring. I can back and asked her to marry me and she said YES!! The ring I had made with America and Ukrainian colors. That was one month ago today!!!

It was not a true traditional Ukrainian way, but her father was very happy.

He only asked for one thing... Grandchildren!!!

Ok, mine's different, but I thought it was sweet...

We met my second day in Bogota (Aug '07), we both agreed that we were just looking to have fun since I was only there for four months. But it soon became clear to both of us that we were falling for each other. We started joking about getting married, and him coming back to the states with me, and other stuff along those lines. Near the end of October, my then 4 year old daughter (Piper) came to visit me. After spending one day with her, he looked at me and said he wanted his own Piper. That night after he went home, he sent me an instant message saying that he wanted to be a part of my family and officially asked me to marry him. I was so nervous that my daughter would be to much for him, but all he saw was his new family. After my daughter left we went out and bought matching wood rings for $2.50 each. Later we upgraded to a white gold Colombian emerald engagement ring for me.

Are you sure your lawyer sent the file back then? You might have to check the July thread too but I'm pretty sure that checks have been cashed for all of the August filers and most have their NOA1... I've heard a few cases where the lawyer takes a while to send the paperwork.

I would also like to add that I love the name Piper for a daughter and am considering it myself. :D

Haha I wish I could do that, Im already stressing about why our check has been cashed and we havent got an NOA1 yet ROFL.

Don't worry stressing is what I do to occupy my time, its hard not too as I only just got back to Aus so there is no point me looking for a full time teaching position or buying a car or anything so i have a lot of free time on my hands to troll VJ and worry lol.

Yeah, I noticed that too! We'll have to keep an eye on each other, regardless of service centre.

This process is SLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW.

Chin up Mark, we're not even a month in yet. :D

I'm still going strong at the moment, I've put my armour up and fully expect it to break later on when the NOA2 and Consulate time rolls around. ;) Plus I'm still waiting for Shanira to get her NOA1!

A bit off-topic, but I got my dissertation project materials today. WOW I am going to be kept BUSY during the next year. I'm working with my psychology professor and a scientist in London... we're studying the relationship between handedness (right or left handed) and facial emotional recognition vs sexual orientation.

I don't even have a hard copy of my NOA1 but my lawyer does, I have the case number so I'll wait wait wait.

Stress? that's bad for you, you can only take this a day at a time. I came back in the end of July from seeing my fiancee and August was the most stressful month for me. Now its September, so many things to get me distracted, TV Shows are back, football (American), more projects and travel at work and my next travel to the Philippines for January.

So hang in there, stay strong and try not to stress too much.

Take Care and Goodluck!

If someone told me I would only be alive long enough for the K1 visa process to complete I wouldn't worry because at least the months I'd have left would feel like an eternity. ;)
