Hi Vjers, I have a question. We filed 2 months ago for an ead only and yesterday we received a notice of action stating that my husband is to go for his biometrics next sat. I hear the cost is 80.00 but it doesnt say that anywhere on the notice of action when it lists what to bring. Its not covered by the ead fee? (wishful thinking) do I bring it it in a check or money order?

Hummm... I thought the fee was already in included in the $1010.00 fee that you would of already sent to the USCIS when you originally filed. Or did you only send in $930.00 for the application only?

Thanks for the clarification. I have not filed for the AOS application yet so I have not reached that stage. However, I am getting ready to file and that was the information I had received. That if you send in $1010.00 it would cover the Biometrics fee too.

if we file for the aos now we will have to file for a lifting of conditions afterwards. we can skip that by waiting till we have been married for 2 years to file for aos. its not to far from now but my husband said he could not stand one more day of not working. he already has several job offers. he just needs his ead to start.

Looks like the biometric fee is included $340 initial petition fee.

You are right Haole, the fee for the biometrics must have been included in the ead fee because they didnt charge us anything. It was all very quick too. I called ucis to ask how long now once they get the fingerprints and the rep said that it can be 2 weeks from the day of prints OR if they want to do a background check it will be another 2-3 months. I'm hoping for the 2 weeks :D

Hi Vjers I just wanted to do an update so if anyone who goes through this issue they have some info to go by.

My husband is still waiting for his ead. However, since it has gone over the 90 day mark here at the california service center, I was able to get an infopass appointment from the uscis website. He may be able to get an interim ead card while the other is stilll pending. I was happy to see we were sent to san bernardino which is not too far from us. I thought we actually had to go to laguna beach which would have been quite a drive. I will post here the outcome of the appointment. Love, peace and chicken grease! :P
