I got rfe today regarding DS230 question no 20

My DOB is September 03 1982 .I got 16 years old in 1998 but i m living in Delhi from 1989

please note in my G325 form i have mentioned that 5/1990 - present i m living in Delhi but by mistake in my old DS -230 i entered 1989 ----present i have not mentioned the months .

IN this case what should be the answer of Question 20.

You should answer 09/1998 -- present

Don't need to mention before that. They only want to know from age 16.

We got ref in this question, too.Because I didn't write from age 16.Then we sent the new one back. After that our case was complete.

Good Luck.

I disagree with the first response, I would write

City------------Province --------------Country ---------------From / To

Delhi------------ Delhi------------------ India ---------------09/1989 --- Present

because you didn't move to Dheli at age 16, so the first of the two options would be missleading. In my case, I lived in the same place from being born to age 17. I put that address on there as from "birth month/ year" to "age 17 month/ year", because otherwise it would look like I';d only lived there a year.

There is something I would want you to consider. While filling your initial i-130 petition, G-325a form requires you to state your residential place for the last 5 years, since you have been living in the same place since 1989, what did you file with yoru G-325a? Did you state the last 5 years only(that would be from 2003 to present) or did you put it as from 1989 to present.

silent---In G-325a i have entered from 1990 - present , they have asked only for 5 years but i given more info

But in Ds230 Question 20 they mentioned very clearly that age of 16 .. i got 16 year old in 1998 so i have written

9/1998 - 8/2008--which is also a correct answer .

pingyari i think u r right i Don't need to mention before that. They only want to know from age 16. loto suggested me the same

Penguin_ie -- U r also right as they have not put any question on G-325a .

I think they want the info minimum from 16 years if we give them more that is also fine for them

I think you would be good with filling out what you filled with G-325a, there is nothing wrong in letting them know you have been staying at the same place since 1989/90, as 1990 is what your G-325a says, just if by chance at the embassy level they tally both the forms and find one date at ds-230 and another on g-325a, that might cause more questioning.

May be someone else who knows better can explain. Best of luck

welcome omm!!! so i can see here that you never been to any place or city since 1989 to the present...but just a suggestion if you never been to any place or city since when you were 16yrs old just put 9-1998 / to the present... instead of 9/1998 - 8/2008.... incase there are some cases like they will misplace your paper and they only find it 9/2008 then not valid anymore... just be sure.... goodluck and God bless
