hi quick questions,

1. should I separate payment for biometrics and AOS processing fee? or just one check of $1,010?

2. and make it payable to U.S Department of Homeland Security right? is the U.S. should be shortened or it should be "United States", or does it matter?

3. Can I file for AP even if im not sure if I'll use it or not? Im planning to go to Phils. on Christmas or probably February, im not sure of the date yet, and there could be change of plans. And since we're paying a thousand dollars, might as well file.. Would if affect my pending AOS if there's an unused approved AP? Please let me know. My husband and I are filing soon, finally!

1. The check should be written for 1010.00 dollars which includes the AP, and EAD also. These are now included in that price there is no fee for Biometrics, you will receive a letter aprox. 4 weeks after your application is received to appear for fingerprints, and picture.

2. U.S Department of Homeland Security is acceptable

3. Advanced Parole and EAD is included now in this 1010.00 dollar fee and AP allows you to leave the US and reenter while your process is pending. So apply for both along with your AOS

Good Luck with your process

I would file I-765 for EAD with the AOS, code the I-765 (C )(9 ) based on pending I-485, this costs nothing more and is part of the $1010 fee for AOS.

EAD will enable you to do things like take a Job, and in many states apply for a driver's license, it also makes a good ID.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

He sent a check for $1365 1010 for the AOS and 355 for the petition. Is that what you did. Well his case was rejected because the amount of the check. Can you help me out with that. thanks

Your friend needs to resubmit the entire package, but this time attach 2 separate checks: one for $355 attached to the I-130 and one for $1,010 attached to the I-485.

Just to let you all know... Our AOS package was rejected at the end of last week for incorrect check amount. We supplied a check for $1010, and they rejected stating that the check should have been for $930 + $80 for biometrics (1010!).. How stupid is that? Anyone else had this happen? They also rifled through the paperwork for AOS, EAD and AP including printing down the side of each front cover and scribbling it out, so I suspect we need to re-print and double check all the evidence is still there grrr.

I'm holding sending back until after the holiday today when I can talk to somebody and double check what the checks should actually be, ie separate or all in one.

I sent one check for $1,010, pretty much everyone sends that too. I think you just got an overzealous idiot who thought the amounts should be separate. I know some other people had their files rejected for the same reason as yours, and I think they just resent it and hoped to get another person who knows better. Short of that, don't know what else to advise you.
