AOS files at Local Office yet no interview?

We sent our I-485 in on November 1st. At some point we recieved an email from CRIS followed by mailed letter that our case was transfered to CSC. Later we recieved an interview notice for Feb 27, 2008... Sometime in the middle of Febuary we recieved a notice that our interview was cancelled. We went at our scheduled interview time anyway and were told that they (local office) had our files but that there was a hit in the FBI Name Check so they cancelled pending that. "You should hear something from us by August."

Well, today we got a "CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED" email notice.

We are extreamly excited about this but at the same time a bit confused. I have never heard of someone who's files are at the local office NOT having to interview.

Has anyone else had this experience or heard of it?

04/12/2007 Touched

05/03/2007 Touched (saw date changed when I logged on to USCIS website)

05/03/2007 NOA2!!! (2 identical emails from CRIS received 20:00:09 -0400 EDT)

05/04/2007 Touched (must be them sending it out to the NVC)

05/10/2007 NVC sends to Frankfurt

05/14/2007 Packet 3 sent from Frankfurt

05/24/2007 Packet 3 sent back to the embassy in Frankfurt

That's a new one, mostly cases transfered to CSC are approved without interview, sounds like they went ahead and approved the application.

Just wait for the card to arrive in the mail.

Yes, that does sound a bit odd, but if the card has been ordered, all you can do is hope it's true and wait for the card to arrive in the mail.

Wow. That is new! But maybe everything was already pre-approved before it hit the local office? so they were only waiting on the name check.

I know when we had our interview the officer told us everything was already approved with our bona fides (It even was packaged together with a stamp on it). We just had the interview because of our VWP AOS.

Let us know when you get the card!!

05/29/2008 --- Entry into the US on Visa Waiver to visit my girlfriend for a summer holiday and to help take care of her sick father where needed.

06/20/2008 -- After the sad passing of my girlfriend's father, we decided to get married and stay together

08/08/2008 --- We get married, lovely ceremony and dinner with all of Sarah's family present :-)

08/25/2008 --- AOS package sent to Chicago via Fedex overnight priority mail. Fingers crossed now!

08/26/2008 -- AOS Package received in Chicago, signed for by A.Smith (1 day before my VWP expires!)

09/02/2008 -- Checks cashed!!

09/03/2008 -- NOA1 received for I-485, I-130 and I-765.

09/05/2008 -- Case is shown online as pending!!

09/08/2008 -- Biometrics appointment letter received for September 23rd!! (For both I-485 and I-765)
