prefer to stay in an area where there is good internet access and cheap taxi's or bus service (if there is one).

Don't know anyone there, i'm just going as a vacation for a few days to simply get away from it all. Know what i mean?

Any suggestions?

We always stayed at "Biney's Bed and Breakfast" in Osu. It was around $25 a night, but I'm sure they are more expensive now. It's right across the street from Papaye and they are maybe three doors down from a good internet cafe. You can also get really good porridge in the morning right across the street. You can easily get a taxi or trotro along the street. There are a ton of hotels along that street both nicer and not so nice.

This was the guesthouse I stayed in while in Ghana. I was there in 2007 and it cost about $40 per day.

http://www.elmeiz.com/

It is in the Dansoman area of Accra and it was highly secure, very nice inside, very tight security, in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet it was still close to the main road. There are several restaurants, stores, and taxis run all over Accra. Also, they had internet service and 24/7 AC. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am a fan of Frankies in Osu 2 blocks from Papaya and 2 blocks from Danquah circle, the rooms are $60.00 a day but that includes a free full breakfast of your choice. You don't have to book online, you can reserve a room and they will hold it for you.

I also recommend Elmeiz! My parents stayed there when they came to visit, and they were very comfortable. It is in a quiet neighborhood and it is not a huge place, kind of homey actually. They did have A/C and internet, and though the internet at the hotel was mostly reliable, there is a good internet cafe just down the road called Scoops (they also serve ice cream yum!).

Dansoman is a bit farther from the center of Accra, but still really full of activity. Osu is more lively, and probably has more tourists. It just depends what kind of environment you prefer.

Have fun!

I am Confuzed

If your husband is in Gambia...why would you not go to see him???? Why go to Ghana? If I had the opportunity to go to Africa where MY husband was I would go to see him...wouldnt that look better for the interview...multiple visits??? I dont understand...according to your previous posts you just CAME BACK from Gambia??? Something is not adding up here.... if you truley wanted to see Ghana wouldnt it have made better sense to go from Gambia to Ghana? This really does not add up??? I also dont understand where the kidnapped children fit in.....can you shed some light??

TBT, I don't mean to be rude but I think that the OPs reason for going to Ghana is her business and hers alone. And all the info about her children is not related to this either.

Its not our place to speculate what her plans are.
