Well if we get visa in hand on the day of the interview...not likely...it will be 1 year, 4 month, and 10 days to get a damn fiance visa

The Jordam Embassy sucks big time, that is just evil that they make you wait a year after it arrives in the Embassy. You have a K1, they shouldn't sit on it. Plus how the hell can they set up interviews a year in advance, shouldn't they be doing interviews and getting their visas out instead of setting up interviews so far in the future, they are so backwards. I am so sorry you are suffering like this. Do they treat all visa's like this, even the K3's and Visa's filed directly at the Embassy?

You have so much strength to stay as positive as you have been, keep doing what you must and you will be rewarded with your Hababi soon.

God Bless,

Paula

their policy is first come first serve no jumping ahead of anyone else, also they processes cases from iraq since iraq is unsafe to have an US Embassy there. wait times were 3-4 months for an interview and two months more for the interview but that has all changed. Probably backed up or overloaded with student visas and iraqis applying. Also there is no different if you are K1, K3, CR1, or DCF the wait times are the same.

Hmmm, wouldn't it be nice if they added extra staff to the Jordan embassy to help with the backlog? But nooo, that would be logical. <_<

I am fully aware of all the reason my petition is being held up, I am just venting. :star: I am very aware of the way they process their appications and visas, I just don't agree with it. I don't think its fair for the embassy to open its door to another country without recieving additional help, but like Rahma said that would be too logical.

If I was waiting for an immigrant visa then I would be able to justify the date, but for those of us that are waiting for non-immigrant visas, its ridicoulous. We still have to do all the adjustments once they get here! I mean this goes against the whole purpose that the K-Visa's were made for to begin with!!!!!!

Thanks all for your support, I have been trying to remain positive. I feel better having the packet now. I was just flabbergasted about waiting until December for a packet. I mean what if December came and went and no packet? How would I have the proof my interview was actually in February???? That was my major beef, I just wanted the appointment letter.

JP I am glad to see you have the packet now. I do not blame you for being upset and I would want something in writing too. Even when we waited for our interivew all I asked for was a date. Once you have a date you can at least count down to it no matter how far out it will be instead of being in the dark.

Like i said they suck the big big one!!! Probably got a wild hair up their behinds thinking this was going to work much better. I wouldn't be surprised about the amount of email and phone calls they are getting because of this. At some point they are going to have to realize that handling cases for both Iraq and Jordan is not working. When that will be who knows??

LOL, I would love to see how much hate mail they are getting because of this. The funny thing is this war has been going on for quite some time now, and they just NOW decided the embassy in Iraq is unsafe? I have no idea how they could come up with a resoulution to this, even if they got extra staffing I'm not sure that would help. There are over 2 milion Iraqi's in Jordan right now, they would need their own embassy.

Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Mind over matter. Actually, I think there is a different reason for the really really long wait times. The iraqi visas being processed in AMM has been going on since long before the Bagdad US embassy even closed, so thats not a new situation or a good excuse, plus the visa-issuing-personnel and resources used by the bagdad US embassy went to AMM too, so thats not a good excuse, and 2 million or so iraqis in Jordan impacts immigration at the Jordanian embassy, not nessessarily the american embassy. Sooooooooo...there doesn't seem to be any good reason for them to be so freakin slow.

Believe me, I know your frustration with them.

Actually the 2 million iraqi's does impact the american embassy. See in Iraq a women needs a mans written permission (husband, father, brother) or escort to leave the country. In jordan, they dont. Many people that got out of Iraq are trying to immigrate to america through their families in the USA.
