Can someone please explain to me what ACCO fasteners are? You say to use them but when I look them up, the search shows different types of ACCO fasteners. Which ones?

That's not what I used... I believe that an ACCO fastener is like a long metal strip that you use when you two hole punch the top of your petition. I got mine at Staples. On the USCIS website they say that two hole punching on the top of your petition is appreciated and to hold it all together to use an ACCO fastner. Good luck!

They aren't going to reject it if you use a binder clip, paper clip or 16d nails. The advantage of two hole punching everything and slapping on the Acco clip is that baby ain't coming apart. You drop a bundle of papers held together with a binder clip and your stuff may fly all over the place.

They want you using ACCO fasteners because that is what they use in-house. Using binder clips or other fastening systems is possible, but if you want them to be happy while processing your application (and you DO want them to be happy, right?) use what they ask: ACCO two-hole fasteners.

Buy a two-hole punch like this:

http://www.instaoffice.com/Easy-View-Two-H...WI74055.0.7.htm

Use it to punch the TOP of your application pages. Then buy the proper ACCO fasteners, like this:

http://www.instaoffice.com/ACCO-Economy-Pr...CC12990.0.7.htm

Use it to fasten your pages together. They will not come apart no matter what.

Then buy some tabs something like this:

http://www.instaoffice.com/Gummed-Index-Ta...VE59106.0.7.htm

Use them on divider pages to divide the different sections of your petition.

Total outlay shouldn't be more than $15 - and in the big scheme of things, $15 isn't a lot to pay to make sure your petition is in the format that the SPECIFICALLY REQUEST IT BE IN. Why start off on the wrong foot pissing them off by sending it in using something else?

Incidentally, I have no connection with the web site I mentioned above, it was just the first one that showed up in Google.

I never ever read about they like us to use ACCO fasteners.

Oh goodness and I thought I would be extra nice and put all the papers in a really nice binder, that holds the pages together with a clip on the left side.

Well, we got approved kinda fast too...maybe they liked that one too?

I think if you use those clips that's good too, just don't use staples for the love of god. You'll be fine.

That's what I have always seen as Acco fasteners, sorry cannot find a pic of one. Not using them myself but I have hole punched the paperwork, anything to help
