I am trying to meet my fiance in one month for the first time. In order to make the fiance visa go faster, should I start the procedure of the paperwork from my end before I leave? Or, would it be quicker to file a DCF in the country to where I am traveling to (UAE)? Could my fiance travel back to the United States with me without a waiting period?

You can't file until you have the evidence that you have met in person with your fiancé within the past 2 years, so you cant file any papers until after you're back.

I also noticed that your fiancés country is Iraq... In the case, I'm pretty sure you'll have to file through the Amman embassy in Jordan... in that case... It's better to get married and file K-3, from what I hear... you may want to ask JordanianPrincess about this.

Good luck!

Just my two dinars - you need to meet her first and decide if she is the one for you before worrying about the visa process! Don't be caught up in the intricacy of the visa process and forget the most important question - do you even want to be with her or not? Some posters here have gone through the nightmare of the visa process only to separate or divorce or abandon each other fairly quickly - the novelty does wear off in 2 or 3 months of being together for some of them.

Having said that - you can alway carry a copy of the G325a and a sample intent letter for her to fill out and sign in case you do think she is the one (this is for K1 only.) Good Luck

Please take the time to read about the different visas in the guides above and things that are relevent to the country of your fiance. This can and may effect your decision on which visa to do. First of all though....I agree with motu....meet your fiance first to ensure that this is the right thing for both of you, as this is a very long road and is longer for some then for others.

Nad,

Do you understand what DCF is? The wording of your post indicates that you may not.

No, your fiance cannot travel back to the USA with you without a waiting period. Not unless he'll be getting a valid visa of some type within the next month or so.

A I-129F for a fiancee can not be filed at consular post overseas. It can only be filed thru one of the service centers here in the US. You can start filling out the forms anytime you have the docs that you need and the required evidence, assuming that you want to get married after meeting. The interview will take place at the Consulate that processes visas for her country, or in the country that she maight be a legal resident. Expect additional delay for that part of the world. She will not be coming back with you.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Be sure you stop in and check the Middle East/North Africa subforum here on VJ. We don't have a lot of people going through gulf embassies, but we're pretty good at dealing with ME/NA men

As others have mentioned, take the time you're there to get to know your fiance. People differ from the internet to real life. This website is full of stories of sucessful online relationships, but there are also a number of people who have passed through who haven't had a happy ending.

My husband and I knew each other online and met three times in person over a 4 year period before he arrived on a K-1 last October. While the seperation was unbarable at the time, looking back at it now, it helped us both know almost everything about each other and prepare for a life together. Most people here have considerably shorter times between meeting their loved ones and being reunited, but it will take some time.

Good luck :luv:

thank you everybody, you are giving us good info, appreciate it :) ,

there is though another thing if you can help with info plz, well maybe you noticed that am from Iraq and living and working in United Arab Emirates for more than 4 years now, suppose we will like eachother and decide to have that wonderful life partnership, what it will be the better visa case for us fiance or marriage visa?? would it be possible that they will turn us down if we apply for fiance visa (since we are not married yet) and so to go for spousal visa better?? (am not considering the time here cuz i dont wanna wind up being seperated from my love or she visiting me in periods just because i cant be with her there, that will be suffering)

thank you everybody for your considerations :)

Nad,

Essentially the same requirements apply to both visa types, if you are found to be ineligible for one you are almost sure to be ineligible for the other.
