Just curious lets say my fiancé gets her visa in country A would she be allowed to take a flight out of country B? or is she only allowed to take flight out to the untied states from the country were the visa was issued?

Hi there,

I don't believe it would matter either - the thing the airline is interested in is whether the passport is valid and then possibly they might check the visa is valid to get into the States, not where it's issued. However, if she travels via a country that USA officialdom has issues with ... Cuba, for example, then there might be a problem at the USA POE.

Of course, if you have any doubts, then do get some official and/or professional advice before forking out for tickets.

All the best,

Sheila

That shouldn't be a problem. I flew from Jakarta to Singapore, transit in Tokyo then off to JFK and no problem at all. They only check the K1 visa when I arrived at the POE.

Good luck!

But I don't think you ever left the airport Oyen. I think he wants his fiancee to leave from a different country.

As long as she can go to that country, the POE doesn't care where she came from, other than they might wonder why her passport has a stamp in it from another country.

The reason why I ask this is because my fiancé is in Albania and the trip to the airport from her town is like a 3 to 4 hour ride and the roads really suck! So I just figured we cross the border and take a flight out of Macedonia where it would take us 2 hours to get to the airport and the roads are great. I am just concerned that the Macedonia authorities might make a stink out of it

Oh yes, I stayed over night in Singapore but since I don't need a visa to stay there (transit) it's okay.

Only depends if Macedonia allows for free entry of Albanians. US Immigration could care less. She only has to have what is necesarry to cross to Macedonia.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
