Our petition got approved :dance::dance: Im getting ready for the interview now and gather documents. Now i read something about the interview that better not be true. It says that i need originals of EVERY document that is in the package. Does that mean i need my fiance`s paperwork in original too or only mine?!?!?!?

=>

4.3.6)...What should I bring with me to the interview?

A...You need everything from the checklist, of course, but you also need originals of everything that was originally submitted as a copy, even with the I-129F petition (except the US Citizens passport and the original I-797 approval notice). Original birth certificates, divorce or death decrees, and originals of any documents to support the I-134 fall into this category. The Consulate has the right to ask for the original of any document, so best be prepared.

I know each consolate is different, but I took originals of everything on the checklist that applied and photocopies too, they looked at the original but kept the copies.

Well an 'original' birth certificate does not mean 'the first one every made for him' ..it just means a certified copy with a raised seal..in long form. ;) You know? Same with divorce decree... etc.

As stated, every consulate is different so check in the regional thread for Germany and see what others who have gone through there needed. It may also be possible for you to contact the consuate and ask directly. That's what I did. ;)

btw...CONGRATULATIONS!
