what might be the reason for that?

is it rare case only or is it very common?

Usually it is reasoned as some sort of a "security" check... more rare than common but it occurs

YMMV

Is this about the K-1 (I-129F) Petition filing OR Adjustment of status (I-485) filing after marriage for green-card?

You posted this to adjustment of status forum.

If about K-1 visa petition process, use timelines advanced view and sort by NOA1-NOA2

(4 show longer that a year)

USCIS does do name checks, and sometimes they can take some time. If you were a beneficiary of a prior K-1 petition, the outcome of the prior case may have some barring on the current case.

i think i went back after 88 days .Is that an issue too to USCIS?

If you were the beneficiary of a K1 in recent years (say, last 2 or 3), that might certainly raise a flag. I don't think it would necessarily preventy it, just it would probably make them examine it carefully.

yeah it happened 2 years ago.and we just sent very minimal evidence of meeting prior to filing of k1.its just my boarding pass.

We're waiting for the RFE..if any....so we can send more of the evidences we can provide.

I saw someone here who have gone through like i had she was a k1 visa beneficiary too and didnt marry her fiance.met the guy while in US and she went back home and her new fiance filed for k1 visa and in just 5 months she got approved....while mine is still pending?

sorry im just a bit down now.

I myself was married to a US citizen before. Hard to say if I will have a problem as my fiance only sent the petition last month. Just have to wait and see what the outcome is.

Well, the main difficulties are:

1. You went through a K1 process two years ago.

2. Two years after that, you are the subject of ANOTHER petition for a K1.

3. You have just mentioned that there is very little information with your second application.

Not saying you've done anything wrong (I don't see that you have), just you can see why they'd examine it closely.

Thats why i really regret now that we hurriedly filed the case and didnt wait a little longer to

collect more evidences ...though we have those now but they dont ask for it.
