I'm sorry but I think it does apply. I feel horrible for you :crying:. IF I'm reading it correctly it has to come back to the US to go back through the USC to approve it then I imagine they'll send it back to the embassy who will, I would think, call and reschedule the next available interview for you.

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

Today was an awful day, just 3 days before my fiances interview in Israel, He gets a call from the embassy in Tel Aviv and they say that they are sorry they have to cancel his interview. He asked why, they then gave a story about some new law as they put it that requires all fiance visas to go for an additional check of some sorts. Something didn't feel right, so I called them myself.

The lady picked up, saw in her computer that there was an interview date on May 16th, and the said, oh yes i see a note here that they called hin today. After putting me on hold for some time and talking to someone in charge I assume, she returns and says to me very quickly we are still processing his appplication and we are not ready to interview him. I ask in confusion what is the reason for this since we have already gotten the interview, she would povide me with no more assistance, she said it has nothing to do with me or my fiance and it has to do with their administrative side and then said the same thing to me as my fiance......we advise him to call in a month if he hears nothing from us. :crying:

I dont buy the new law excuse, something is not right!!! It's not fare! we were 3 days away, and they just drop us like that :help:

I've been crying non-stop since then, and I have no clue as to whats really going on!!!

Awww so sorry. This is awful

There has to be some kind of window. It can't be ALL NOA1's after Mar 6th. At some point, the USCIS had to start doing the proper screening. In that case, it will be all NOA1's between Mar 6th and ???? I think people here want to know the ???? as well!

My thoughts exactly Robert.

As i said in the other thread I think the Embassies really arent sure whats going on and are referring back to USCIS - hopefully there should be some directive going out about this - it seems the new law is being misapplied (from what I understand from reading here).

BUT - if the checks are righteous I doubt tehy will take very long otherwise everything will just grind to a halt across the board as service centers are choked up with recalls.

And once the recalls are returned to the Embassy Im sure they will be fast-tracked for interviews.

Honestly, I would think only the VSC is facing major backups ... how many of the other service centers have a lot of NOA2 out there with NOA1 dates of 3/6/06 or later?

So ok i think im finally getting this:

ANYONE with an NOA1(ONE) AFTER march 6 2006 their interview will be canceled for further checks

ANYONE with an NOA1(ONE) BEFORE March 6 2006 will be ok and proceed with the interview WITHOUT cancellation.

If im wrong, please let me know.

I dont know what's brewing.. but it isnt good...

to the OP, I'm sorry about what happend! This new law shouldn't apply to you, Unless you have a history of husband beating!

 ummmmm no I wouldnt hurt a fly...let along my husband. Usually the husband is a lot stronger than me

I'm trying to cheer up, but it's sad really, the law should not apply to me, plus we did not use a marriage broker, so this is a double wammy.....what can one do? I've been stressing about this, and the only advise I have received from family and friends, is not to stress since it is now out of my control, I did everything I could and I just have to settle with the news and the delay. It breaks my heart regardless :(

Funny... I was thinking the same thing earlier! For those of us from CSC/TSC, just now getting our interviews... you KNOW we had our NOA1s a LONG time ago! :) Maybe that's why the VSC as suddenly put the brakes on as well?
