My Sister thinks so. Bad news seems to be growing into a fever pitch. News of kids being killed by their parents, whacky weather, disasters and so on and so forth. Has it always been this way and mass media is bringing it to us instantly or is worse than it ever has been?

More people + instant communication = the illusion of more disasters.
