Hi,

My mom text me that my dad collapsed and now in hospital... subarachnoid bleeding.... hope he could survive...

My status is, I'm here with K-1 and filed AOS/AP/EAD on April 22nd, biometrics done, AOS was transferred to CSC.

I tried to make an Infopass appointment, but it says they are not available till Thursday. Do I have to wait until Thursday?! Is there any way to "expedite" the expedited AP?? Calling USCIS helps?

Any input would be highly appreciated...

K

You could try going to the office with medical proof of your father's condition and ask if it is at all possible to request an immediate emergency AP, that the emergency is imminent and cannot wait until Thursday. Explain that you know you should make an InfoPass but that the earliest appointment is Thursday and you just cannot wait. Bring proof of filing your documentation with you as well. If that is not successful make a visit to your Representative's office and have them intervene on your behalf to get an immediate appointment. Good luck!

Would she need to fill out a current I-131?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

It wouldn't hurt to have a new I-131 application completed and available. They may also charge for this one as it is separate from the AOS so it is best to be prepared.

Thank you Nagishkaw  But unfortunately, the officer could not finish today  , so I have show up there tomorrow again... that's why I could not report detail now. The only thing I can say is, "they accept walk-in in case of emergency"

Hey,

I hope everything's ok with your dad and that you got to visit. I have a question - what exactly can you provide to them as proof? I'm currently in Michigan with all my AOS papers filed (and waiting...) and I find out that my grandma in Vancouver is in the hospital (pretty serious). I don't have any sort of medical paperwork stating anything - so what in the world would I provide? I was thinking about just calling the expedite in, just b/c I don't think I need to be there right this second, but I would like to see her in the next few weeks.

I don't even know where my "local office" even is!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jess
