Well the day finally came when we mailed the entire I-130 package away! What a relief! My husband received a NOA1 in the U.S. where he lives stating they received payment, and obviously we received a number starting with letters "EAC" to track our case online.

So now what?

We only sent in the I-130 along with the G-325A's. I feel like we're missing something. When do we mail in the I-129f and what is that used for anyways?

Still no 'touches' on our application either, and April 29th our NOA1 was received. Should I be worried?

Sorry for the rambles, just hoping this will all be over by October...

Thanks guys! So glad we did this on our own, I've had friends with major lawyer issues! This VJ family is awesome! :star:

P.S. what is the process of visiting the U.S. from Canada when the I-130 is pending anyways?

Sound like you are doing a CR-1 or K-3 visa yet this post is in the K-1 forum for fiancee visas.

Anyway, if you are considering K-3, you send the I-129F package to the Vermont Service center as indicated by the EAC number.

Consider carefully the K-3. K-3 is NOT work auth, CR-1 is. So if your spouse wishes to work, apply for a driver's license and apply for SSN, K-3 cannot until they have EAD or green-card, EAD can take 90 days or so to get. CR-1 receives green-card upon entry so CAN take a job, apply for driver's license, and get SSN

Compare timelines, select advanced, filter for Canada, and then look at the time from filing to interview for CR-1 and K-3, you will find that they are not that much different for most.

CR-1 is just letting the I-130 process without filing the I-129F.

If you want to do K-3, then :guides:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k3guide

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Hi as far as i know, one u get noa1 that's the time u could send your 129f, are u filing for K3? well i suggest that cr1 is much better. Just wait for a while and soon ul get ur response from USCIS. We are still waiting for our noa2.... its been 3 months from now since we receiuved noa1.

October is not a realistic timeline for a spouse visa if the petition was filed in May. Sometime next spring maybe.

Hi,

We filed for K-3 Visa in November 2007 after our wedding to the USCIS....

First step is to submite the I-130.....then you wait for your NOA that it's been approved.

Then you submit your I-129F........then you wiat for your NOA that it's been approved.

PS. I have read that some VJ'ers sumbit both at once.

As soon as you get your NOA that the I-129F has been approved, it gets sent to the NVC.

The NVC then sends it to your beneficiary's local Consulate...

They let you know to pick up "packet 3".....your ticklist for what you'll need for your interview.

then your beneficiary do the medical, and then it's time for interview..........

ours took almost a year......good luck

If I can give you advice......start doing research on what you'll need for the interview, and start getting it ready.......

Things like Police clearance, unabridged marriage certificates, birth certificates and such can take a while.......always stay a step ahead....and keep reading this site......it helps more than trying to find answers from the USCIS or the NVC

good luck.......stay focussed and keep your eye on the prize......before you know it, it's over...

PS........when our I129F was sent from the NVC to my consulate, my husband received a letter from the NVC that he must pay a $70-00 fee, for the IR1 VISA. I was totally confused about why it's going that route when we applied for the K-3..it turns out that our K-3 still continues the normal way, but that the IR1 also starts happening as all K-3 applicants, automatically also applies for IR1.....you need this VISA eventually anyway for Adjustment of Status in order for the beneficiary to work in the US and receive a green card, SS number and such.....so don't be thrown by it when the time comes.....

Best of luck
