Hello guys, thank you for helping me out on this one. My check was bounced as I did a stupid mistake and wrote a check from the account that didn't have funds. What should I do now? Should I send another check? but how should I note on the check for which application it belongs to? Originally, I had sent the check with the application and I did recive a receipt letter from the USCIS. I do have my file # on that receipt letter so should I just write that file # on this check? Do i need to include anything else?

Thanks

IMO, you wait for them to contact you about it. Sending things after the fact usually results in them not getting matched up.

When we sent in our petitions, hubby put wrong address on the cheques and they sent the entire package back to us to re-submit. It took less than 2 weeks so hopefully that will happen for you.

Alan put the wrong amount on our cheque and the whole application was returned. It didn't take long, just wait for the paperwork to come back and then resubmit it all together with the new payment.

Good Luck. xxx

Not sure if this helps but A CSC filer from last year had the same problem and noted later in the thread that the "Debt Managment Center" billed her and charged her an additional $30 (for the inconvenience I suppose). They also allowed her to pay over the phone and take care of it without delay. This was a spousal visa so i'm not sure if it goes through a similar payment procedure as the k1.

I have seen an awful lot that VSC will return a petition if the address on the check is not correct.

Jasminder puter are you crazy? Were you drinking Bhang when you did this? I think they will just charge you an extra fee to process the same petition without sending it back (around $35 more) - bouncing checks can become criminal and come back to bite you later on. Be careful - Samajh gaye?
