My husband had to have surgery and I wrote a check for a large sum, forgetting in my haste and worry that the USCIS check had not cleared. And now, it has bounced. A stupid, stupid, stupid mistake. There is plenty of money to pay now and no where to send it to. Our deadline was up April 27th. Was rejected once for using a form that was outdated(it was still to date...we used a lawyer to file our paperwork) and now....I don't know what will happen. I am just beside myself. Does anyone know what I can expect now?

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Try contacting the USCIS to find out if they redeposit the checks or send them back to you. If they redeposit the checks that bounce and there is money to cover, you are fine. If they send it back to you, you should receive it in the mail soon and will be able to re-sent the payment.

Unfortunately, since the application is at the California Service Center, there is not way to make an infopass appointment. Another user who made this same mistake at the same location in April said they bill you and charge you $30. They didn't redeposit the check again like I had hoped. But thank you for all the advice. I guess right now its just a waiting game.

We received a NOA and a Biometrics Appointment in West Sacramento for June 5th so we are just going to go and pretend like we are suppose to be there :innocent:

My lawyer bounced a check for our fileing fees. Man i was pissed off. So he said he would send them another check . I told him i would just put it on my credit card. But you only have so much time to do this. ( I fierd that lawyer) Or you have to file all over. That is what the lady told me.

They told me that my application would be rejected too, but I received an NOA anyways and then I got a bill from the Debt Management Place. Whats even more funny is that the Debt Management Center is the easiest and most efficient place in the whole of the USCIS agency. A friendly knowledgable person got on the phone right away and allowed me to pay it.

Oh I am right in the same situation right now! Like a dummy I was short of $20 when the USCIS cleared my checks, so the $170 for the Advance Parole bounced.

What do they do then? Do they send you a bill in the mail or something? I made an Infopass appointment for Monday just in case, will I be able to pay for my Advance Parole there?

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi what happend if the check bounce ? did you got a mail asking you to refile the petition or did they asked you to pay the amount?

I have a same situation where I applied for I-751 and my check was bounced. I went to bio metrics and got temperory one year extension. Now I got mail asking me to re-file the petion.

I am just thinking does that mean send them the money order with this letter or should I have to start all over again?

Can you please share your experience ?

I appreciate your help.
