The speed here seems to be average. Someone tell me, is this good? It seems as good as most cable connections I have used. I would highly recommend testing one of these before signing a contract with them. Santa Fe was basically dial up speed.

Probably good for wireless, but as LuckyStrike said, it's not really "high" speed by today's standards. At $60/month it will be a while before it truly gives cable a run for its money.

In LA, you can get an a la carte Basic Internet service for $34.95/mo (without TV or phone) that gives 1.5 Mb/s download speeds, and for $54.95 you'll get 10mb/1mb(up) or 15mbx2 depending on your area.

They are probably doing this because they want to increase the 6 mb $44.95 standard downstream speeds to 10 mb across the board without raising everyone's prices, but if they allow certain users to go from 6 mb streaming to 10 mb they will just make matters worse than they are.

Its either this or hope the net neutrality act fails. This is probably better since most people don't download the data loads they are going after.

Behold, the future:

I pay $60 a month right now with unlimited access. Prices will drop and cell providers will give companies like Time Warner a run for their money. The service is sketchy in some areas of the Country (Santa Fe was giving me fits last night), but most areas are high speed. It's the only thing I like about Sprint.

Forget about online gaming though with that.

I've never played. What are we talking, W.O.W.? Tell me which one to test and I'll give it a look.

COD4

Battlefield 2142

etc

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

You should look at sprint. They offer 3.1 mb down 1.4 up for around the same price. Works anywhere in the country as well and is extremely fast.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

$1 a gig. That is actually really cheap and a great deal. Considering most cable companies in the US only have unlimited plans which cost so much. This way anyone using a few gig only pays for their usage..

I am now paying $50 a month for 20 gig peak / 40 gig off peak here in AUS. And I was capped last month to 64k for exceeding the 20 gig.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

It is Sprint!

They must not have 3G EVDO coverage there. That speed is way to low if that was active.
