Hi Julianna! Im going out to check on the stinky plants. How are yours coming alone? Sorry, I had to change the subject.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Did you like the arabic tongue twister?

mine are doing ok-- just still at a stand-still. Lots of seeds are coming up today though!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Is this a moroccan thing? The local mosque that we have been going to Jummah at is mostly moroccan and we were both saying that when it's time to say the shahada (i forget what you call that point in the prayer) the people there make their index finger go in tiny circles instead of keeping it still. Has anyone else seen this? Husband is convinced it is wrong but I'm thinking it's part of whatever madhab they follow?

I've never seen (or maybe just haven't noticed) that.

hmmmm....i'll have to ask next time I go but that will mean finding someone who speaks english in the woman's section. It's like a line of women between the age of 65 and 80 all in abayas and straight off the boat and then there's me. lol When it's time to form the line they squish me in like a sammich. I'm not used to praying in a mosque but he likes me to go with him for Jummah 'cause I guess we get extra points for it.

I'm gushing over here watching him out the window. He's with my youngest and she's fervently teaching him the proper way to catch a softball. He's making her feel all important and stuff and keeps saying "ooooh, thank you" when she critiques him. :luv:

It is the way of performing tashahud according to Maliki, which most Moroccans follow, as well as other Northern and Western Africans.

Thanks! I'll have to tell him this to make him feel better.
