Jess.....You know....Im not sure how different Lebanon is to Jordan, but i almost feel like i can completely relate to you when i spent 9 months in Jordan....I know exactly how you feel...helpless,trapped,homesick,hungry,..lol.....I have never really went into too much detail about my stay in jordan, but i encourage you that if u really love your husband, then stick it out....there were days in jordan where the only thing i had to eat was rice...days with no electric...days with no water.....i took a shower from a bucket for 9 months from a lack of a water heater....the bombings there...the threats i got.......i missed my first nephew in america being born...my uncle passed from cancer and i didnt even see him...my brother was in and out of the hospital...i always wanted to take the easy way out and just go home...but something inside kept me going...and i realized it was the love i have for sofyan....i could probably count on my hand the number of times i left our house in the whole nine months i was there....sofyan and i had NO money....and we smoke...which, although sounds stupid...was where the only money we had went....i never went to coffee shops...almost never to restaurants...it did stink....but one night i sat myself down and made a deal with myself....to make a promise to sofyan that i would never go home unless he was next to me, and also...to make the best of my time....i stopped feeling sorry for the situation i was in....i spent day and night getting close to my sis in laws, nieces nephews, mom and dad in jordan....i got the courage to just step in the kitchen one day and help out with his sisters....since that day i cooked with them every night, and also...I promised myself i would learn arabic...it was a perfect opprotunity....and that i did...it was hard....but i have about a 1000 word vocabulary and can speak half fluent, which isnt bad for only 9 months of learning....i guess what im trying to say is....love does prevail...and once u and your husband are home...all those bad memories you have in lebanon will fade and you will onyl remember the good ones....make the best of your time there....i can tell u one thing...ive only been back to chicago for 6 weeks and i cry every night to my mother in law because i miss jordan like crazy....

Jenn, you might be interested to know that she said the RFE wasn't going to affect the EAD, as far as she could tell. She said that usually they'll put a hold on the account if they don't want an interim EAD issued, and there wasn't a hold on ours, so hopefully it'll be the same for you.

Thanks for the info, Sharon. After I finish this post, I'm going to go ahead and make Wadi an infopass appointment for 91 days from the receipt date of the EAD. I hope they give him the interim!

Trying to gather all this tax information, ease my co-sponsor of fears so that I can actually get a co-sponsor for yacine.. and Now I'm dealing with embezzlement from my student organizations bank account.
