Money is tighter for some, especially with delays in being able to work for SO. Plus, there are costs, albeit voluntary, to travel to the SO's native country. In sum, costs add up quickly when marrying a foreigner.

To AtlantiCat, I've come to find out that intelligence (as measured by IQ) is not the same as common sense . And, somehow, what seems like common sense to us is often not seen the same way by our partners. I'm sure they share the same frustration too. We just learn to live with it and love each other ... warts and all.

I'm with the lady on this one. He did something extremely stupid and he might just start asking her for money if he's spending his own like that and he's out of work.
