I forgot who keeps the list of the approvals, but you can add me and Nicky.McMillan to the list! Apparently the only question they asked him was how we met. He waited an hour and a half just for that!

Anyways, there is one hitch...I had to give him a letter stating that we still intended to marry when I was in the UK last week. Apparently, they wanted this notarized as well. I don't recall seeing that needing to be done anywhere on here before...is this something new that the embassy is doing? (It's not a big deal, I'm just printing it off again and express mailing it...and I happen to work at a company that has a large legal department with several notaries that will do it for free).

To add on a bit...Nicky said that we first met in person at a U2 concert in Omaha, Nebraska. I guess the interviewer was a fan too because they talked about U2 for several minutes after that haha.

Thanks everyone! All of you on VJ who have given advice and encouragement...I thank you all immensely. We couldn't have done it without you.

I'd never seen it written anywhere myself. I wonder if it had something to do with our case being expired (since it had been in the pipeline for so long)?

Very good day indeed. :D

The letter of intent thing surprised me. But the IO did explain it was todo with our case being over the deadline. Which was in part the embassy's fault for losing the P3 forms I sent, which added a good two months, tho I should have checked up sooner.

Here's the thing. I went down with the old police cert. The IO guy was starting to hand me a piece of paper informing me of the new one that's just came in, which I expected anyways. As he was doing this, a lady came over and spoke in his ear, then he said scrap that we will accept the old one. The lady then said to me "we're sorry for the muck-up with the original p3 you returned, we found it today! So I guess that's why they let me off with the old police cert. I wasn't complaining.

IO guy was really nice. Only asked me about how we met & if I was married. We spent more time talking about U2.

Then he told me I would be good to goto Chicago once I mail back the notorized letter of intend with the passport with the courier firm.

All in all a good experience. Like everybody has said before me, a big anti-climax. The hardest part was the waiting.

Congrats you two!!

And yes, the notarized letter of intent is required when the NOA2 has expired, i.e. 4 months from approval date. Otherwise they don't even typically asked for a renewed letter of intent.

Relax, people! Deep breaths!!

One thing I did notice, as soon as I got to the window. The IO had my case file out, it had a big red APPROVED stamped across it. He wasn't exactly hiding it either.

So I guess they make the decision before you even get interviewed?
