Okay, I have now lost all hope. 246 days in and nothing.

This makes my blood boil that they actually said this.... :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

Add me to the 'no touches since 2/24 club'.... :(

Pattu, where have you been?, or have I just missed postings form you??? I think I will make run to Algiers in Louisiana, and get some true voo doo dolls and a few potitions from those Voo Doo queens and put them to work.

Well, I have been busy packing and getting ready to see my hubby in a week!!!   I haven't seen him in 11 months.... :crying: I was hoping once I got back that we would have been approved(according to the timeline that is about right) and we wouldn't have such a long separation again but after seeing how slow VSC has been and reading that the I-130s are last priority, who knows now.... :crying:

The voodoo sounds like it might work. At this point I think I would be willing to try anything, especially for the Oct/Nov people who haven't been approved.

Might help the way they handle future cases, i wouldnt hold my breath about current ones.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

SUBJECT: I-129F/K1 priority over 1-130?

"Hi, My name is Daniel, and i'm a U.S. citizen with a currently pending I-130 Petition at the Vermont Service center. I've read your reports on the USCIS and I had a question maybe you could answer for me.

I've been waiting for over 5 months for ANY information about my case, and I've noticed that I-129F/K1 filers seem to get approvals SO much faster than I-130 filers, sometimes within a month.. which seems a bit funny to me, as an I-130 would constitute a an existing family, and a I-129F/K1 filer is people who haven't even married yet. Is there a reason they give Fiance Visa's more attention than Marriage Visas?

Someone called the Vermont center, and the agent actually confirmed that I-130's are given the least priority, even among Tourist and Work Related Visas. That blows my mind.. These are families waiting to be together, and TOURISTS are given more priority? why??

Thank you for your time, i hope i get a reply..

BTW, my case number is **blanked out*** if that helps any.."

if you guys want do the same. i'm probably not as educated as you guys are on the subject, but i hope i got some of the point across..

Someguy, Great letter. Thanks for the template. I sent a similar one just now. I am a paired I-129/I-130 Filer and realize this is CR-1 forum but thought I would post this here as well.

Mr. Dougherty,

My name is Carol Kawa, and I am a US Citizen Petitioner. I currently

have two petitions pending with the Vermont Service Center: I-130 and

I-129F. My husband is the beneficiary. I have read your reports on the

DHS website and have a few questions I thought you could answer for

me.

I have been waiting for over 5 months for any information on my I-130

case. This amount of time is short in comparison to other petioners

who have waited close to 1 year for their approval. Therefore, I have

no assurance that my petition will be approved within the time frame

of 6 months as advised by USCIS when I initially filed.

I understand that there is a backlog of petitions that have to be

worked through. However, this reasoning is not acceptable to me for

the following reasons:

1. I-130 petitions are not approved in a first-in first-out method.

Some petitions are not approved as the one year mark is approaching

while others are approved in 1 month with no expedite.

2. I-129F petitions are being bypassed at the Vermont Service Center

but not at the California Service Center. How are these two government

agencies able to make decisions on how I-129F petitions will be

processed independent of each other?

3. K-1 fiancé petitions are approved at Vermont Service Center in a

more timely manner than K-3 spouse petitions. Why is there priority

placed on K-1 petitions?

4. I also understand that I-130 petitions are given least priority at

the Vermont Service Center, while tourist and work-related visas are

approved in a timely manner. Can you address why this is the case?

5. It is my understanding that some I-130 petitions are being

transferred from Vermont Service Center to California Service Center?

Can you address how Vermont petitions will be prioritized at the

California Service Center? Will they be placed behind current

California petitions? Will this reorganization of petitions benefit

the Vermont Service Center petitioners?

Thank you in advance for your reply and for addressing my concerns. I

can assure you that many spouse petitioners have many of the same

concerns that I have. I understand that this process takes time and

there are many petitions waiting to be approved. Any help you can

offer in understanding the reasoning behind the concerns I listed

above would greatly assist myself and fellow petitioners in trusting

that our petitions are being handled in a professional and timely

manner by our government agency.

Best Regards,

Carol Kawa
